Official Women’s Premier League 2023

Nat Sciver has been the difference for Mumbai - two excellent unbeaten knocks in the last 2 games when it really mattered.

She started slowly today but made sure she was there at the end to guide her team home - she's a special player.

Jess Jonassen took a wicket but running out a set Lanning and then striking sub 30 still gets her the net negative contribution tag

she also misfielded and wasn’t tidy with the ball at all. the total opposite of her usual self for Australia

That was a great tournament. I wasn't convinced after those big chases in the first few games, but it became a lot more competitive between bat and ball as it went on.

WBBL has always been the benchmark for me in terms of women's leagues, but this one could overtake it if it builds on this promising start - especially with an extra team or two (and ideally some more White Ferns to cheer for).

Interesting that the winning team had no Australians in it. NSB is obviously one of the world' best, but the bonuses were Matthews, Wong and Kerr all being among the top 5 wickets takers in the tournament. They were the best team throughout (bar the odd blip at the end of qualifying) and deserved winners.

Still no idea why Wong wasn't in England's T20 team.

hope it leads to teams signing more of other country players too next time around, i get preferring Aussies due to their team power but other team players are also good
