Vijay>>>>>>>>>>Dhawan in tests. Reminds me of when they kept dropping Pujara. FFS.
They'll never learn. He was dropped and then came back to score a match winning hundred in the SL game followed by a solid home series against SA. 2 innings where he bats slowly including one where he makes 46, nek minnit dropped for a guy who averages 20 in the last 2 years.

I realize WI bowling is hardly world-class, but is there any particular reason why Ashwin could not make big runs vs other teams? Does he have a spin/swing/fast specific weakness?
Is ok against other teams. avgs 50 against England and 69 against NZ. 21/23 againt Oz/SA.

Ashwin just continuing the tradition set by Gavaskar as dominant against the WI before they got good.

The 69 average against New Zealand is off only two innings, of which one was a not out. :p

His England average is surprisingly good though.

this innings is playing like the first test I ever saw, Aus vs Eng @ the Gabba in '98

Steve Waugh and Ian Healy came together at around 5/100 and both tonned up.

fun fact for the day

These two have certainly taken their time though. Is the pitch getting easier to bat on, or have the bowlers gotten tired out by this point, or are there signs there might be a bit of wear and tear later? Never too optimistic about India's chances of taking 20 wickets.

hmm look, in tough conditions against good bowling under pressure it was batting cautiously that helped build a partnership and turn it around, instead of a quick innings by someone who can 'change the game in a session'.

both have their place in cricket, kohli needs to realise that.

Another flat deck? Then it's only a matter of whether it's a hard-fought draw, or a tame one.
