***Official*** West Indies Tour of the UK 2017

Looking forward to seeing what we do with our lineup for this test. The weather is set fair so I don't think that much swing will be available. I would think Bishoo should play but only if Holder will actually give him a bowl.

I imagine they will stick with Powell and the only remaining spot is Kyle Hope vs Shimron Hetmeyer. I really hope they give Hety a game but couldn't really argue if they stick with the same lineup for the sake of consistency. Brian Lara once spent a whole tour of England on the sidelines learning, I don't think it will hurt Hety to do the same, he's only 20.

Laws was raving about him after the ton he got the other day. And importantly he mentioned how "great of a fielder he is". I understand that Kyle has more cricket experience under his belt. But when I weigh everything I ask myself this.

1. Who's likely to cost us a wicket in the field? (Kyle)

2. Who could win us a game IF they managed to get in? (Hetty)

So it's a no brainer to me. But I like you I'll understand if they choose to protect Hetty in this tour. We'd just have to hope that Kyle can produce something with the bat because thus far he's been very disappointing (granted the last innings he batted he was very unlucky to get out the way he did)

The Bishoo issue is bizarre and surely the think-tank will have to access the situation and come up with a proper plan of how to use him effectively? He got Root out in the first digg which was crucial at the time. I think we made an error not bringing two spinners tbh but anyway I'd probably stick with him for this test.

Anyway, some great news for Kraigg Brathwaite today as it's confirmed that he has signed a short-term deal to play for county side Yorkshire HERE. This was the hope I had before this series, that some of our young batsmen would stand up and possibly impress some county sides. Kraigg has a great opportunity here to see a totally different cricket environment and learn new things. Darren Bravo had a spell with Nottinghamshire when he was younger and he came back a different player (I think he scored a ton in BD and then back to back tons in India iirc). Now Kraigg has much more experience than Darren did back then but just to be in a professional setting at a county club, work with their coaches and experience county cricket should do him the world of good. Hopefully Shai can get a deal somehwhere too as I think he would relish the challenge.

So the article in the Mail about the young leggie getting rave reviews in the nets is not what caught my eye. The fact that Steve Kirby is head coach of MCC did though. Interesting choice given how sparky he was on the field.

As for the side, should have been this team last week. Nothing against Woakes but rushing him back with so few games was stupid.

Their batting has been a shambles this year outside of Ballance and I guess they think Peter Handscomb will be with Aus for parts of season. He also hasn't really pulled up any trees in CC.
They've still got good seamers + Rash, it's a good move.

It's Lord's tbf. Will probably magically flatten out between 12pm and 1pm.
Yeah, which means you run the risk of losing a bunch of wickets early and England getting the far better batting conditions.

Could work if Brathwaite gets them through to lunch but it's a pretty brave move.

Cook needs to **** off out of the slips. His catching cost us massively in 2nd Test, that's a howler of a drop as well.

He'd been pretty much flawless this summer until then. It's unfortunate, one drop can completely drain your confidence, and he's always been somewhat erratic.
