I don't like to judge a pitch before both teams have bowled, but this is reminding me of some of the concrete decks from the last years of the Kevin Mitchell Jr. era.

WI might have been better off bowling first if so, but then scoreboard pressure comes into it.
Yeah seriously this is a decent partnership but otherwise this could arguably be a worse top order performance than Adelaide. This is a complete road, the kind that a typical Australian batsman just doesn't get out on after ball gets old.

Suspect this is one of those instances where the pink ball helps the batsmen because of how soft it goes; the two day/night Tests here haven't had any appreciable impact from the night session either.

Lyon been fairly underwhelming so far today; bowled too short and had a rather negative mindset bowling around the wicket quite often.

Not the first lacklustre spell he's bowled this summer.

I don't mind his around the wicket line, it works for him at this ground, but his trajectory seems quite flat at the moment.

Now that's a name I haven't heard in awhile

What a grim era that was

There's something ironic about green getting the edge while bowling and having the ball fall short of gully.

They're not gonna get close to getting all the overs in at this rate, and for no other reason than that they're just dragging the tempo.
