The pitch is grassier than yesterday, but not overly great for bowling. It's better, but the West Indian effort was due largely to a couple of errors (not poor batting per se) and some good Zimbabwean bowling.

Rampaul...what is he doing there? He did really badly in the tour game and now he's being picked in the ODIs and looking like easy meat. What is it with these selectors?
On the Zimbabwe side it looks like they've decided Matsikenyeri and Sibanda are set for long spells in the side. If Matsikenyeri keeps up his form fair enough but if they keep picking Sibanda and Mahwire, then bye bye Zimbabwean cricket.

Good to see Vermeulen batting well against the better sides in world cricket, looks like theyve got a few guys coming through with a lot of talent against the bigger fish...

Sibanda looks a decent prospect actually. He scored a good fifty on ODI debut. Mahwire, agreed.
Vermeulen looks a really good batsman and the future is bright for Zimbabwe if he's an indication of the young talent.
Rampaul is just 19-years-old! Not picking him now won't be detrimental to his career. We should send him back to learn how to bowl at this level with more FC experience and then pick him in 2 or 3 years - when he'll still have a good 14-15 years of Test cricket ahead of him.

Re: Black. He didn't play the RSB this year because the T&T selectors couldn't find him. He was 'unreachable'. He did bowl well in the Carib Cup though, with little luck.
