Clearly you have way too much time on your hands...Samuel_Vimes said:Actually not much - 21 changes in 53 overs gives 53/21 = 2 and 1/2 overs or in cricketing terms 2.3 overs.
Dam. And the best we could do is some guy named Hadlee...Langeveldt said:Oh and he's got an interview up on the "other site"
Finally a record that an Aussie can't steal from him. :PMister Wright said:Congratulations to Brian Lara who is now the leading run scorer for the West Indies.
Honestly, he will never be a great batsmen or finsh with the Test average of 60 that Ted Dexter predicted he would have if he keeps throwing his innings away.Mr Mxyzptlk said:And you'd be wrong. Out for 65. Lara however....
No, the "other site" people have too much time on their hands :P They quoted how many bowling changes there were, I just took the numbers out and divided. Nothing compared to collecting statistics for the whole CWXI.Mr Mxyzptlk said:Clearly you have way too much time on your hands...
Very few bowlers produce extremely good balls on a regular basis. Is it wrong for a batsman to get out to a 'good' ball?Craig said:If it was a extremly good ball, ok, but if he got himself out, I think Lara should have a talk to him.

It would have been ridiculous to drop Ganga after the last Test match. I would personally have dropped Collymore to keep Drakes, but we all saw how that worked out. :P Collymore bowled undoubtedly the best spells of the series today. His first spell saw him york Vermeulen middle stump for 61... off a noball and he was constantly beating the bat, hitting the pad, getting lucky inside edges onto the pad etc. Great stuff. Banks should never have played as a specialist spinner.... Dave Mohammed!garage flower said:Combined innings bowling figures for Banks/Gayle/Hinds/Sarwan:
1/177 off 57 @ economy rate of 3.1 (innings RR 2.94)
Combined figures for "out and out" part-timers (i.e. the above excluding Banks):
0/75 off 19, econ rate 3.9
Put Drakes in the side for Ganga, he takes a chunk of the above overs and what happens? I would guess Zimbabwe all out for at least 50 runs less than they're on now.
Another negative selection from the Windies brains trust that could cost us the win.
No I'm not joking. If you read back, I'm sure that you will see that I never supported Banks playing as a specialist spinner (ie a fourth bowler). Banks is a decent spin option, but not one who will take 5 wickets. He's a fifth bowler at best at this point in his career. He does have to talent to become more than that though.Tim said:Are you joking about Banks, Liam? up until a few days ago he was the best thing since sliced bread.
So there's 2 days to go, West Indies have a 100+ lead with 9 wickets in hand..I still think there's time for a result.
