Actually not much - 21 changes in 53 overs gives 53/21 = 2 and 1/2 overs or in cricketing terms 2.3 overs.
Clearly you have way too much time on your hands...

And you'd be wrong. Out for 65. Lara however....
Honestly, he will never be a great batsmen or finsh with the Test average of 60 that Ted Dexter predicted he would have if he keeps throwing his innings away.

If it was a extremly good ball, ok, but if he got himself out, I think Lara should have a talk to him.

No, the "other site" people have too much time on their hands :P They quoted how many bowling changes there were, I just took the numbers out and divided. Nothing compared to collecting statistics for the whole CWXI.

Actually my numbers were wrong, should have been 59/21 = 2.5 overs. :(

Very few bowlers produce extremely good balls on a regular basis. Is it wrong for a batsman to get out to a 'good' ball?

Mr M, are you watching this morning? I'm hearing that Collymore has been unplayable and unlucky not to get more wickets. Can you confirm?

No.

But what is your defination of a 'good ball'? Any ball bowled by a bowler that he got out to? If he threw his wicket a away, ie he got hinmself out, then it his annoying.

It's beyond dispute that too many (all?) the young Windies batsmen throw their wicket away too often, which is essentially what we're talking about.

It sounds like Hinds and Sarwan have been the worst culprits in this series.

Zimababwe 369/9 with Price hitting out. Edwards, our quickest and most hostile bowler is well rested having not bowled for a while. Who does Lara bring on? Sarwan.

This obsession with the part-time bowlers (Hinds, Gayle, Sarwan and I'm including Banks) appears to have cost Windies dearly in this innings. I'm going to post their combined stats in a sec.

This series seems to have confirmed that, if we want to play a spinner, we play our best spin bowler regardless of his ability in other aspects of the game.

Combined innings bowling figures for Banks/Gayle/Hinds/Sarwan:

1/177 off 57 @ economy rate of 3.1 (innings RR 2.94)

Combined figures for "out and out" part-timers (i.e. the above excluding Banks):

0/75 off 19, econ rate 3.9

Put Drakes in the side for Ganga, he takes a chunk of the above overs and what happens? I would guess Zimbabwe all out for at least 50 runs less than they're on now.

Another negative selection from the Windies brains trust that could cost us the win.

Zimbabwe 377 all out after Price (35) and Mahwire (8*) added 41 for the last wicket.

Gayle gets trapped plum LBW by Streak's first ball. 0/1. Hello..

It would have been ridiculous to drop Ganga after the last Test match. I would personally have dropped Collymore to keep Drakes, but we all saw how that worked out. :P Collymore bowled undoubtedly the best spells of the series today. His first spell saw him york Vermeulen middle stump for 61... off a noball and he was constantly beating the bat, hitting the pad, getting lucky inside edges onto the pad etc. Great stuff. Banks should never have played as a specialist spinner.... Dave Mohammed!

Are you joking about Banks, Liam? up until a few days ago he was the best thing since sliced bread.

So there's 2 days to go, West Indies have a 100+ lead with 9 wickets in hand..I still think there's time for a result.

No I'm not joking. If you read back, I'm sure that you will see that I never supported Banks playing as a specialist spinner (ie a fourth bowler). Banks is a decent spin option, but not one who will take 5 wickets. He's a fifth bowler at best at this point in his career. He does have to talent to become more than that though.

I'm confident in a West Indian victory. The pitch is still pretty good for batting, but the conditions are getting better and better for bowling.

Streak on fire! Lara bowled for 1, Ganga gone for 8 - Hinds and Sarwan trying to save the WI innings on 30/3.

Don't think Zimbabwe will get any more wickets quickly, but there's certainly some solid bowling going on. Apparently Lara's ball was a beauty, Streak is doing some pretty solid work, but I refuse to believe that WI will continue the collapse.

(aargh...why didn't I stick with Collymore...)
