Why? How can you not like Kallis?
Just don't like him, or his batting and especially his bowling action. Gross. I think he's just a bit arrogant with his batting, trying to be more classical when the situation doesn't merit it. Mainly in limited-overs cricket. Feel the other batsmen try to up the rate he leaves them.

Also often gets owned by a good quick bowler once too often for mine. Played and missed Edwards about seven million times already.

Alistair Campbell just said that this is a small total. Far from it imo given the way it is turning out for the bowlers and it being Supersport Park. Windies are favourites imo here. Tend 60-40 towards them. Had it been a longer game, say 45-50 overs with a similar run rate to chase, Windies would be 75-25 favourites to win imo.

Hmm, well his strike rate in ODIs is 71, and i think he is improving in that respect. He also often has to face fast bowlers with the ball still new, due to the inadequacies of the opening pair, and his bowling action seems to work wonders for us when we most need it. Love Kallis.

I love Kallis too, but I think its not hard to see just why people don't like him.

I completely disagree with those that don't, but at the same time understand why they have that opinion. I don't think anyone saying they don't like Kallis is something to be shocked about.

Haha, is it really that low? Sort of says it for me in that respect. And no doubt his bowling is effective, he's picked up key wickets every time he's bowled lately, but it is the ugliest bowling action in world cricket for mine.

Hmm, well maybe because I'm pretty new to cricket and I'm from Cape Town and half my best friends and my boyfriend go to Wynberg Boys (as did Kallis) , but I haven't often encountered negative sentiments about him :) Could see his points though.

Kallis either:

a) bores people
b) gives off an arrogant aura
c) gives off a selfish aura
d) or is simply too good

so people dislike him. Nnanden's bowling action one is new to me. Decent reason though, its not pretty, but its effective.

Now Steyn, that's a  bowling action

Steyn's a good bowler to watch because he charges in, swings the ball at pace and never stops trying. He can also bowl "the miracle ball" so to speak. However, I wouldn't say his action was pretty to watch.

RP Singh is a good example of someone I think has an aesthetically pleasing action. Each to their own though, I suppose. I can't talk if I love watching Ganga and Dippenaar bat. :p

Solid reason to not like his bowling action. What is your opinion on Sohail Tanvir, Shuan Tait and Andrew Symonds (bowling pace)?

Well, since been dropped from the 2020 team he certainly is neither a or c. D is probably what Nnanden is secretly expressing.

Symonds' I don't mind too much. Tanvir's is not pleasing to watch. And Tait's is fine for mine, just not the best way to bowl. Kallis' whole open-chested heave is just yuck.

Haven't been too secret. :p It's probably a combination from b) to d). If I was South African I would probably really like Kallis, but occasionally be frustrated with his slow scoring in ODIs.

Haha, word. Was just talking about it with a mate. It's like Donald (my favourite bowler in terms of action probably) but skiddier perhaps. Very good Test-bowling action at the least.

Dippenaar.

if only rampaul was a gunnish keeper and gunnish batsmen with a crabby batting stance

not a fan of Steyns action tbh... mayb somethings wrong with me.. although ive always been a fan of the Pollocks McGrath's of the world (there smooth actions)

But Pollock's isnt smooth. Its stop-start.

No doubt its economical, but it isn't smooth that's for sure.

West Indies ground fielding is excellent, lots of energy. If only they had some batsmen. :(
