I think he meant the pace they bowl, there is also Darren Powell in the squad.
Even he's lost some pace. He definitely needs to get fitter if he intends to keep his place.

why do they want to keep Lara away from ODIs? I think it's a bull***t decision.
but from SL point of view, couldn't be better ;-)

Someone's messing around big time. The profile linked to Sew Shivnerine shows a 53 year old who played a couple of tests during World Series Cricket and retired from first-class cricket 25 years ago.

He wants to prolong his test career so he can lead the total number of centuries in tests.

Or maybe so that he can help the West Indies for longer? He was well on course to lead century-wise regardless of ODI cricket.

I'd prefer Ricardo Powell to both Morton and Smith. He's more dependable that Smith and scores faster than Morton. He's a mature version of Dwayne but that problem against spin might be a cause for concern.

Morton doesnt look talented enough for me,

he had some seriouse problems facing Shahid Afridi,He has the problem playing across the line againts spinners.

Ricardo Powell has taken several steps backward of late IMO. He looked to be maturing last year in the Carib Cup, but has fallen away badly since then. Morton is a more reliable batsman than Powell. If you're replacing Lara, you're in the team to score consistent runs, not a quick 20odd.

without Lara .... mmm! Vass and Murali must be salivating.
It's doubtful how much saliva they can generate with thoughts of ODIs. He's there for the Tests. That's where he has owned them.

As does Dwayne Bravo. Is Dwayne Bravo not talented enough for you?
