With or without Lara WI will lose in Sri Lanka unless they decide to play Significantly below par in tests. In ODI's WI will be "chicken feed" to Murali especially without Lara.Mr Mxyzptlk said:It's doubtful how much saliva they can generate with thoughts of ODIs. He's there for the Tests. That's where he has owned them.
sorry mate, I didn't read the article.Mr Mxyzptlk said:Are you serious? Did you read the article I linked to?
The man wants to extend his Test career. Tests > ODIs.
Bravo is a talented player,'Mr Mxyzptlk said:As does Dwayne Bravo. Is Dwayne Bravo not talented enough for you?
honestbharani said:I don't think Lara has quit ODIs as such. This series is perhaps the only ODIs they play for the rest of the year, and Lara thinks it is better to keep himself fresh for the test matches coming up and then concentrate on important ODIs over the next year, so that he can be as ready as he can be for the WC.
even so, he is still WI star player he has to play, look at Australia Gilchrist in the last 6 months or so hasn't made a great impact but you cant drop a player of his calibre.roseboy64 said:Lara hasn't really made a big impact on ODIs lately is what I meant.
If someoone else is performing I sure can. I'm not one for dropping Lara anyway. He opted out. I still would have kept him in the team.aussie said:even so, he is still WI star player he has to play, look at Australia Gilchrist in the last 6 months or so hasn't made a great impact but you cant drop a player of his calibre.
well the WI dont play ODI's until they go to NZ next February so they wont miss him a lot in ODI in the too distant future & he has said he has intentions to play in the 2007 WC, so Lara's ODI career is by no means over.roseboy64 said:If someoone else is performing I sure can. A graceful lefthander, Mubarak has the air of a Sri Lankan David Gower. Like Gower, he plays the game as though it was his birthright, and after representing his country at U-15, U-17 and U-19 level, maybe it is. Born in Washington DC, the son of a respected scientist, Mubarak returned to Sri Lanka to attend Royal College, Colombo. Made his debut against Bangladesh in 2002 and impressed as replacement in South Africa with classy 48 but a poor ODI run (68 runs in 7 innings) has limited opportunities since. He is a useful offspinner, an excellent fielder and also a national swimming champion
