Blackwood has made a habit of these random 4th innings blinders hasn't he? Remember him making a ton vs NZ in similiar fashion a few years back, and he made 90 odd to win vs england in the 1st test in 2019.

ATG knock if he makes a hundred. Fast and uneven track, thunderous hit the deck attack, zero batting support.

Both batting line-ups are lacking, but 350ish scores in SA tend to be winning scores. From a SA point of view, Markram scoring that ton in the first innings was probably the game. He played well this test. The rest of the line-up basically still has the same level of questions its always had. Rickelton should be in, but the only player I would drop is Elgar. But that is from a long term perspective nothing to do with this match. I thought Klaasen kept very well, but his batting is a concern.

Likely that Coetzee will be dropped for the next test for Maharaj, be interesting to see if they bring in Mulder for Muthusamy or not.

Conrad obviously has his favoured players. It would be harsh on Kesh but I think he really likes Coetzee. And I tell you what,I'm a huge fan already. He clearly gives it his all in batting or bowling

If Maharaj comes in then Muthusamy has to make way as there's no point in playing two spinners at the Wanderers. So it would then be a question of whether they bring in Mulder to retain the four seamer and a spinner bowling attack or go with Rickelton to bolster the batting, and my guess is that it would be the former.

That was an awful drop of Elgar on D1

I would really like us to bolster the batting , we reached a new low vs the West Indies in that third innings and none of the seamers deserve to be dropped , get Rickleton in on his home ground at no.5 , Bavuma at no.6 and Klaasen at No.7

I asked for morsels and Roach, Alzari and Blackwood have given me some. Now need a little bit more come the 2nd test. Of course RSA still for the win.
