Update:I'd go :
1.Kraigg Brathwaite
2.Dean Elgar
3.Tagenarine Chanderpaul
4.Aiden Markram
5.Temba Bavuma
6.Kyle Mayers
7.Joshua Da Silva (WK)
8.Jason Holder
9.Marco Jansen
10.Kagiso Rabada
11.Anrich Nortje
Whois the stock bowler though? though Ngidi was doing that role and before Vern. Unless the spinner will do that while other 4 just attack. He is 22... needs lots more work on a few aspects. (Same as Jansen) But looks really good and has a great attitude and lots of fire; can't ask for more at such a young age. Why I love him in the setup early, will improve quickly.
Every SA lover of cricket should love the thought of Coetzee, Rabada, Nortje, Jansen steaming in.
That's why the condition dependent circumstances becomes important. Either you have Maharaj as a stock bowler with 3 pacers. Or else you play the 4 pacers and someone like Muthusamy/Linde as an additional stock bowler, or maybe Mulder, 3 pacers and Maharaj. The point is right now they need to nail down that 7 position. Its probably the most crucial decision to get sorted because it dictates the team bowling options and long term selection.Whois the stock bowler though? though Ngidi was doing that role and before Vern. I think Mulder may be better batter with the new ball as it comes on than old ball and spinners. That's why the condition dependent circumstances becomes important. I feel like the previous regime would have just went with 5 pace bowlers and not even included a Muthusamy/Linde type. I absolutely hate 5 seamers. And this position SA finds itself in is why I never like going into a test without a spinner... even at Centurion.
I think they tended to pick Maharaj. The problem was that they probably also went with four seamers, none of whom could be classified as an allrounder.I feel like the previous regime would have just went with 5 pace bowlers and not even included a Muthusamy/Linde type. I absolutely hate 5 seamers.
They tried pretorius than mulder than jansen at 7.I think they tended to pick Maharaj. The problem was that they probably also went with four seamers, none of whom could be classified as an allrounder.
