There are some players in the Pakistan lineup who aren't good enough for ODI cricket IMO, so I think it is an excuse to an extent. Both teams have been understrength in this series, and the absences in the West Indies batting have really been telling.nightprowler10 said:Ridiculous all round cricket from Pakistan, having a depleted attack is never a good excuse for poor cricket. Kudos to WI for taking full advantage of it.
Yeah both teams have been without some of their better players, and in the end, unfortunately, it has been a battle between who dropped the least catches and gave up less extras. I think WI pretty much threw the last game away by way of extras and horrible fielding, Pakistan did the same today (though Razzaq's captaincy probably did more harm). In my opinion the first ODI was the only match that could be considered a genuine battle.Mr Mxyzptlk said:There are some players in the Pakistan lineup who aren't good enough for ODI cricket IMO, so I think it is an excuse to an extent. Being in the US, you must have a lot of extra cash to be able to watch every international. Even I have to pick and choose between tours, and I make decent money.silentstriker said:I tend to watch pretty much every international match played, unless it conflicts with another international match.
Yea, I'm crazy.
No you don't. Just depends if you feel like paying 100+ dollars, then you have to have a lot of cash. Otherwise anyone who makes decent money can watch every international match. When I'm in America I order everything unless it involved Bangladesh or Zimbabwe, but I only watch it if its on during the day, or during the weekends at night. If it includes India I watch it whenever its on.nightprowler10 said:Being in the US, you must have a lot of extra cash to be able to watch every international. Nah, not a lot. You have to look at, ahem, non-traditional methods.nightprowler10 said:Being in the US, you must have a lot of extra cash to be able to watch every international. Even I have to pick and choose between tours, and I make decent money.
dont tell me ur talking about FTA technologysilentstriker said:Nah, not a lot. You have to look at, ahem, non-traditional methods.
Was referring largely to Iqbal, Mohammad Sami and Mohammad Hafeez. I'm fine with Pakistan playing Hafeez as a bowling allrounder, but given the composition of the side, it seems they want him to be a genuine or a batting allrounder. And I'm not sure he's up to that in ODIs.nightprowler10 said:BTW, who do you think doesn't belong in ODI cricket as far as today's line up? Just about everybody has done pretty decent in ODIs, even Sami, with the obvious exception of Faisal Iqbal.
Trust me, there are so many people who don't know about the non traditional methods, and actually buy it. So don't worry about that.nightprowler10 said:Call me stupid, but if the companies showing the games in the US don't make any money from it, eventually we won't have any cricket, PPV or not, being shown in the US.
If being shown on PPV means paying exorbitant prices that they ask, then good riddance I say.nightprowler10 said:Call me stupid, but if the companies showing the games in the US don't make any money from it, eventually we won't have any cricket, PPV or not, being shown in the US.

Also, does anybody know why Rehman wasn't included in this ODI? He did better than Afridi, with both the bat and the ball.
I was like that till I was in college. Then got into a job and now it is a great feat for me to have watched a whole match that is not on weekends.silentstriker said:I tend to watch pretty much every international match played, unless it conflicts with another international match.

That's quite surprising actually. His average has definitely risen quite a bit since the last couple of years. I think he used to be around 23 back then, didn't realize he had gotten so bad in ODIs.Mr Mxyzptlk said:Mohammad Sami averages 42.75 with an economy rate of 5.07 over the last 2 years and his last 25 ODIs.
I watch it when its on, and have been putting a bit of cash on the matches but to be fair, its up against three test series, one which is the Ashes and another which involves India. Naturally this will have less interest seeing its just another random ODI series.pasag said:Yeah classiest six there. Good win from the Windies (Ha).
I think with the series at 2-0 then, Gul was dropped just to rest him and maybe because of that big blow he took to hes left shin from Gayle.Does anyone else have any clue as to why Gul was dropped in favor of Sami. Is Gul injured or something?
