Why do we need a sub-par all-rounder anyway? Instead, why not go with either a specialist bowler or batsman?

I wouldn't mind either Hafeez or Razzaq being excluded. Get a specialist in place of one of them. I still have some hope for Malik though.

If you want an allrounder who bats well and picks up a wicket here and there, why would you drop Hafeez or Malik ahead of Razzaq? Both are better batsmen than Razzaq.

Sounds like Osman Samiuddin echoes our views. Dare I say that at this point I'd prefer Sami over Razzaq as a bowler, only thing is that I actually expect Razzaq to bowl well here, as he almost always does. Karachi winds favor his brand of bowling, or at least they have in the past.

Or bring in Afridi for one of them and a specialist seamer for another. Can't think of a particularly noteworthy seamer to bring in, but any of them would probably be better than a bits and pieces player. Although many people wouldn't agree with me on the Afridi bit.

pakistan has nothing to lose here. what is the worst that can happen? the test series would be tie 1 to 1. naizi or sami should have been tried in order to praper them for SA tour and world cup as pakistan need fast bowlers in absance of asif and shoaib.

The Pakistan team should stay as it is really, until somebody strikes some poor form or they start to lose a few games. I would be happy if this game was rained off so that Mohammad Yousuf couldn't break Viv's record, no offence to Yousuf but I think such a superb record deserves to be held by Viv.
