Feel a bit better about that bad decision after Vettori had an lbw turned down that probably should have been given. Evens it up a bit.

Not looking good, is it? 4 match series perhaps...with rain forecast for Saturday too. :(

Forecast is pretty good for Saturday to be honest. A chance of some light showers, but nothing that should impact on the game too much.

AFAIK, there's no consistency in such selections to call anything policy. The only apparent policy is picking players with limited first-class experience and a poor record. And, of course, picking every fast bowling option before allowing a spinner to play two consecutive Tests.

Yeah hence Findlay gets in.

I really can't understand the policy of having Benn in the Test squad and Miller in the ODI squad. From what I've seen, you'd be better off having them that the other way if anything. I'd personally just run with Miller in both squads but it'd more debatable in one day cricket.

Even stranger to include Benn in the Twenty20 matches but not the ODIs, after he bowled quite superbly at the Eden Park T20. Would've been very useful in the middle overs of an ODI innings based on his Twenty20 performance.. Haven't seen Miller play before but with Benn having the advantage of playing in the second test and the Twenty20 series, surely he would've been a better option to continue into the ODI series as well. Either that or what you've recommended with Miller selected for the whole tour - I'm also struggling to see the point of having one replace the other mid-tour.

Basically, the Windies selectors knew Benn would be more suited to twenty-twenty than Miller, due to his ability to fire the ball in at 110 mph. However, in 50 over cricket you can't do that every ball, therefore Miller is the more likely candidate for a spot.

The only reason i can think of for Benn getting any where near the test team is due to the relationship he has with the team and the captain. Never going to stay there though. I imagine he will be removed by the time England tour the Windies.

Miller is plain and simple a better bowler than Benn. It's a good thing that he's the one in the team for the ODIs. Trust.
