***Official*** West Indies in New Zealand

On statistics you'd say New Zealand are favourites as the West Indies need to break the highest ever fourth innings score at Eden Park to win.

But I have a funny feeling, the West Indies are going to win this by 5 wickets.

Am I the only person who doesn't think this is an easy win for NZ? Am I missing something you guys know? I mean, with all due respect to the Windies, they were at 47/0 in their last innings and soon after, they were 49/3 and then 60/4. NZ have outscored the Windies' first innings in both of their innings, so I don't see why NZ are suddenly in a "dire situation" or sorts that will require a huge amount of luck for them to win it. Maybe I don't know something you guys know about the conditions or something...
obviously not having tv coverage over here, i can only speculate, but its a drop in pitch isn't it? they generally seem to get better after the first couple of days.

I guess when I've got nothing to go by but Cricinfo, I do tend to think stastically. Then again, some people here would say I always think statistically, so there you go :p

There's little doubt that history, form and reputations are very much on the side of the Kiwis, but I've just got a sneaking suspicion.

Either that or my pathological hatred of all things New Zealand has kicked in again. ;)

Maybe Styris will get his first 10WM. :p

I don't think many NZers expect a win from here, in fact from what I have read no one is giving us a chance.

Bets are on if we lose it, everyone will be in an uproar about how we should have won it, though. ;)

EDIT: Can any NZ'ers let us know if it looks like play will start anytime soon?

I bet the game starts right when The Breakfast Club starts, too. :@ Haven't seen it before, I hear it's pretty good though.

West Indies are going to win this, for sure. And good on them.

NZ haven't played test cricket for awhile and it's shown. But you have to ask some questions about their approach to this test match.

We've got to get better pace bowlers from somewhere. Franklin & Martin make me cringe at times.

For sure? Would you put your house on it Tim?.....there is no possible way they could be bowled out from here ?..... I agree they are favourites, but don't be a typical NZ sports follower and give up before its over. They still have 240 runs to get. If NZ were chasing 290 and were 50/0 you'd still be saying it could go either way. You are a very brittle and cynical supporter Tim.

I must add that IMO the West Indies have had the better of Lady luck in this Test.

Bond has bowled a lot better today so far, he went for 20 in his first four last night and he's gone for 2 runs so far today, this is his third over of the day.

Im sorry but I think the writing is on the wall in this test.
I'll support NZ until the end, but if you ask me..they'll need a few minor miracles to win this test.

Anyway, they've got to be taking wickets now while the ball is still reasonably new and the pitch is still damp or else the afternoon sessions will run away on them.
