Good post. It has been terrific fighting spirit. Bowlers tired or not tired flat pitch or not flat pitch. Our attack is decent. Or at least we have two decent bowlers anyway.

What an innings. So proud of him, it was obvious he was going to be a test match batsman from a very early age. I remember his Dad telling the Sky team during the 2004 tour that 'Darren is a much better batsman than Dwayne, just wait and see.'
To that end, pretty rubbish reporting from Carpinfo here...
"Since his Test debut in 2010, Darren Bravo was always earmarked as the next big batting phenomenon from the Caribbean because of the striking resemblance of his strokeplay to Brian Lara's. But despite sporadic brilliance, Bravo had not shown enough signs of maturing out from his image of being a body double. His 40 in the first innings of the Dunedin Test was a typical Bravo innings - gorgeous, brief and inconsequential. However, he went some way correcting all that in West Indies' second innings with a response befitting his talent as he posted his first double-century in Test cricket with the team under immense pressure."
The guy was averaging 42 in Test cricket before this innings. He's now averaging 47. Yes he gets out frustratingly sometimes, but he's still a young batsman. Terrible journalism.

Yeah, if the weather closes in (which it's meant to do) then the West Indies should be favourites to save the match. Even without it I'm not sure NZ can do this. The bowlers look exhausted and, like a typical modern NZ pitch, batting is only getting easier.
Well done to Bravo, a champion innings. But this would be a crushing disappointment if New Zealand fail to win.

I'm absolutely stunned!!..i really am. These guys have embarrassed the great WI shirt recently but today they've shown the kind of spirit that won us the t20 world cup!!..Darren has always had this in him but man i didn't expect it to be in these kind of conditions!!..he's done all his good work in Asia thus far but to come in under pressure and perform like this could really be the making of this young man.
In the india odi series you could tell he was getting into his groove as he got three 50s in a row!!.but no-one could have guessed he would play an innings like this...tbh though he's not played much first class games for trinidad lately!!..only three this year, hopefully if more games are played in our domestic games our youngsters can start to learn how to concentrate more and build a long innings..
Things are a little in the balance now although a quick burst of wickets tomorrow certainly give the game to NZ!!..but if these two stick it out and the attack start to tire again then making it to 200 plus might not be out of the question...the aim should be to make it to lunch with one or both of these guys at the crease.
Whatever the result though i get the feeling our lads will take confidence from this!!..they've had a good bat and hopefully the attack will also be changed!!..rumour is Sammy might be heading home after this and if that's the case surely Holder will be brought in who is also handy down the order with the bat but of course is a much better bowler and one of our best prospects.
If someone could post the highlights from today that would be great.

I didn't see much of him. From what little I saw I can tell you that his forward defence looked weak from a technique perspective.

Well some comments
1) If we don't pull this off - then on retrospect should we have enforced the follow on. Our bowlers were more tired in the 2nd dig no question.
2) BJ Watling from minor cricinfo comments I have picked up on has been a bit up and down with the gloves. Is this correct for those who have watched? And should he have dived for that catch that went between him and Ross.

Wow. This sounds like a magnificent innings from Bravo... Always thought h had it in him to do something like this, which is why I was so disappointed with how he played in India. Sad I didn't get to watch a single ball of this but he's been batting or what, 10 hours now? That's truly epic stuff... He's dragged west indies from the abyss to a position where they have a very minute chance of saving this. This needs to ho up on YouTube as soon as possible but shame I couldn't catch it ball by ball.

Fantastic from Bravo. Shame in a way we had a test going over here because he's a great player to watch IMO and that innings sounds epic. Some fine support around him too, and well done to the much maligned Sammy on hanging in there for his young team mate.

Looks that way, the first hour is going to be so critical isn't it. Edge of the seat stuff coming.
I saw it and it went straight between BJ and Taylor. Taylor went for it while BJ remained still. I don't think BJ would have got it either but I suppose he could have had a go.
Ian Smith was saying he's been impressed with his wicket-keeping in the Test.

I expect WI to be cleaned by within the first hour. Their tail is utterly crap.
IMO still < 20% chance of WI saving it from here.

Best got a 95 in england when all seemed lost too!!..so anything is possible!!..my hopes our we can make it to lunch only losing one wicket at most..but then we should be somewhere close to 200!!...we get bowled out half an hour after tea with 220 on the board then it's game on i'd say.

Well of course... but that would be the case whether we enforced the follow-on or not.
If we had enforced the follow-on either:
- We would have scored 100 to give our bowlers a session rest... and right now we would be crapping ourselves as the Windies near a record 500 chase, or;
- We would have batted a bit longer to score 200 and the equation would be fairly similar to what it is right now imo, because the max we could reasonably chase in the second half of today is around 200.
