Urgh. Appreciate the player and the innings, but I hate that the attack will always place an asterisks against this record.
Can't agree with this line of thought tbh. It's a monumental achievement to post 200+ in an ODI, no matter who you're playing against. Sure the Windies aren't the strongest side going, but I don't see how this detracts from the achievement at all. Otherwise players would have scored a heap of doubles in the format, especially against England.

I mean, I can understand people saying they don't think much of ODIs if that's their thing, or feel these series lack meaning - again, that's fine - but it's still a fantastic achievement ro rack up a double hundred inside 50 overs.

The spirit and fight we've shown at times in this series has been very encouraging, and youngsters such as Brathwaite, Powell and Narine have given themselves a good chance of making it at the top level, Darren was sensational like we all knew he would be and Edwards has been a revelation, of course the chain around our necks who is holding us back remains the pathetic "captain" that is Darren Sammy, he was utterly disgraceful today and we hope it's the end of him,

Ramdin may not be a Gilcrist but his batting seems to have improved of late and he's been schooled under Darren Ganga as far as captaincy is concerned so i believe he should be the next skipper asap, that way at least our team will be balanced for a change, the bowling unit concerns me a little though, Fidel is rubbish imo, yes sometimes he has good spells he gives away so many boundry balls it's ridiculous, Roach has also gone backwards imo, done ok in this ODI series but it's still nowhere near the level he reached in Sri-lanka a year ago,

The next four day season starts in Febuary and i can't wait, looking for the pacers to really stand up and be counted, last year a tall quick by the name of Carlos Brathwaite was th pick of the bunch with 26 wickets and he's a good batter down the order aswell, i'm sure the likes of Shannon Gabriel, Nelon Pascal and Jason Holder will be looked at too, there's plenty of young bowlers coming up but the selectors need to be brave enough to pick them, the status quo can't win us a Test match against the top four teams imo.

sorry meant to say Aaron is NOT goin to Australia. :)
Ahh, fair enough. I thought you were saying he was going there early and Vinay was replacing him in the ODI squad for this series. I was confused about that given Vinay was already in the ODI squad but I thought I'd roll with it and correct you. Fail by me. :p

And one of them is 99% sure to get injured in the series. Reckon we should just suck it up and play 2 spinners if a fast bowler gets injured. Better than playing with 10 players in the side.
