Can anyone explain this to me? When a batsman hits 2-3 boundaries on the trot, the commentators always say that the last one was the best of the lot, even if it obviously wasn't. What's up with that? So weird.

FELLAS!!..there's rumours flying around that the tour might not be off afterall!! :-O

WICB has not called off tour of India

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board advises, that, contrary to media reports, it has taken no decision to discontinue the ongoing tour to India.

The WICB will make a further statement following the conclusion of the Fourth One Day International which is in progress
Would the bcci allow a u-turn after setting up a series with SL already? :D

The word is new players to replace those who wish to strike may be brought in!!..as far as the tests go we have Brathwaite, Chanders, Blackwood, etc etc to come back so i wouldn't be too worried tbh.

Maybe the WIPA has essentially called it off but the WICB still intends on sending a team full of scabs, like that series against Bangladesh which Reifer captained. Better off calling it off IMO.

I know for a fact that many of the players in india right now don't want to strike prince!!..so when you add the likes of Brathwaite, Chanderpaul, Blackwood, Gabriel, Cotterrell etc..hell even Shilly :D ..then we'd have a decent test side anyway imo.

The scabs could do better imo. Blackwood and Brathwaite are really good, way better than hacks like Pollard and Smith.

Well Blackwood and Braithwaite were going to play the Tests ahead of those two anyway. It really depends on which players would strike; if it's about the IPL in any way then their Test team doesn't actually have many IPL players in it anyway, but I haven't read an article that actually says that. I think people are just assuming. Blackwood and Brathwaite may be part of the strike; who knows?

Well, yeah, maybe they're part of it too, in which case it'd be silly to call up the replacements. WW and me were just being a bit optimistic.

Meanwhile, Marlon is ***y. Dat inside out coverdrive Hnnnggggh  Getim in the test squad

I doubt it prince..those kids wouldn't risk their entire career over this..not when they are so young and just getting onto the international scene...tbh our test side should be fine bar a couple of players..

Brathwaite
Gayle (not sure of his position tbh)
Edwards (would most likely replace Darren Bravo if he decides to go with this scanderlous brother)
Blackwood
Chanderpaul
Johnson (don't see him striking tbh, he's new to the scene) if not him then Carter or Fudadin
Walton wk (back up keeper)
Ashley Nurse (already been called up apparently)
Gabriel
Cotterrell/Cummins
Nikita Miller or Bishoo

These are the players i'm not sure would follow Dwayne Bravo with the strike

Roach
Taylor
Samuels
Holder
Leon Johnson

Ramdin might follow his trinidad teammate or he might see sense and understand that he will lose the test captaincy if he gets involved with this madness. All in all i would say that team could give India a decent game.

Lol @ dropping Darren Bravo. Are you serious? Can't afford to do that imo.

This is amazing from Russell btw
I'm not saying "drop" him...of course i wouldn't drop one of our best players..the problem is his brother is the damn ring leader of this "strike"..so is he gonna go against Dwayne in order to play? that's what i have doubts about.

They've already scheduled replacement ODIs against Sri Lanka. They could well make more money out of that tbh.

On the topic of the match.. I think we've all been critical of how late Pollard comes in at times at both international and franchise level, but sending him at #3 in an ODI is even more ridiculous than that. Two games in a row now.
oh not again???:@

If this does come to pass (and a reverse is possible still from what i hear) then it really is a sad day in our cricket...i understand they are upset with WIPA but what grates me is they are embarrassing our cricket infront of the whole world AWAY from home...this is scanderlous. If they have an issue then get this tour out of the way and take action before the SA series!!..that would be fair, but to refuse to play and actually end a tour is madness imo...and for me it should be the last time some of these guys put on a WI shirt.

What also grates me is the fact that most of these idiots p/ss on our cricket to go and play in the circus that is the IPL..half of the side have had their pockets filled by it instead of staying and playing in the bang series...and yet they can't even play ONE tour without money being the be all and end all? 8-) what about playing for the fecking collective region YOU REPRESENT? what about playing for the damn WI FANS? it's shameful and out of all the players there i'd only keep..

Leon Johnson
Darren Bravo
Kemar Roach
Jason Holder
Jerome Taylor
Denesh Ramdin (maybe)

The rest can go to hell for all i care!!...and if some of those listed have a problem aswell then dump them too!!..Tino Best came out on radio on tuesday and said the new structure the board have set up to professionalise our cricket helps ALL players around the region and he backs it!!..that's the sort of attitude i like to hear, not these selfish prats who don't really care about WI anyway..summed up by Dwayne Bravo's crazy comments a couple of years ago about "Trinidad first, ipl team second and WI last"!!..P#SS OFF!!..lets see how you deal with being out of the international picture now you clown :mad2: .
If your employer screws you over would you stick around for a month or would you be out of there ASAP?

I don't see why people are so unsympathetic. I can understand being angry at the West Indies looking bad but well, they looked bad as soon as the players disagreed with the new thing. You might say you would kill for a chance to represent your country or collection of countries for free but you don't spend 9 months away from home for 10 years in a career where a few stuff ups could see your income crash through the floor.

Whilst I don't agree with the WI pulling out of the tour, it is interesting that team management includes Richie Richardson and Clive Lloyd

If those guys couldn't get the team to fulfil its commitments then I doubt that anybody could

Probably a good thing too, West Indies A team is more like a West Indies Z team most of the time.

Yeah most people would.

Though interestingly, SL team hadn't been paid for almost eight months on end and they went on to tour SA while that was still going on. But that really can't be allowed in this era of professionalism. Companies can't get away with stuff like this, neither should the boards.
