y u mad though?
Stupid meme from a stupid bugger. They're decent bowlers but to say they're a walk up start is ridiculous. One's been injured for two years and the other is still tripping over his umbilical cord.

And in other news Sharapova takes the first set of the women's final in arguably the most stylish tennis dress of all time.

Norwood's on Fire
Yeah I agree. If he said they are both potentially good enough for most sides I'd say it's a fair point but they wouldn't just walk in.

Worth noting that you're still a **** though.

If Samuels has a decent match again here, I'd struggle to think of a player who has been around for as long and with such limited previous success who's had such an exceptional series with the bat. Would it be Steele against Australia in 75 in England?

Except that Steele hadn't played any international cricket before that series.

Maybe Amiss in India in 1972/73

Or Steve Waugh in 1989 would probably be a better call.

Yeah fair enough. It doesn't happen that often does it? Where a bloke does so moderately for so long before just having a great series, especially away. How old is he now? Close to 30? I know Waugh had played a lot of tests but he was still a young man in 89.

Marlon is 31 now. These sort of series out of nowhere only happen to batsman who wear red rags in their pockets Burgey.

To be fair to Samuels he is averaging 46 in his 11 tests since his recall last year. Not just had this one good series. Also got 16 wickets at 40 which is reasonable for the part timer.

Fudadin looked solid and then gets caused all kinds of trouble by a short delivery on a slow surface. Ordinary.

Only way England can win is if they bat pretty average tomorrow. Wicket looks a beaut.

That's true. Another contender is Mike Gatting - first played in 1977 but never did enough to stay in the side until the Indian tour of 1984/85 where he made a couple of big hundreds and continued to do well until the hotel incident in 1988.

I reckon there must have been others to do it against England over the years though. 8-)

I would say the only way a result is possible is bowling them out today and then declaring 100 or so in front and pressure causing a 2nd innings collapse.

Cheers. He's a very good player to watch. Look at the way he moved into that drive just now.

Well I think if they bat well, the Windies won't have much time on the 5th day.

Samuels is making the wicket look flat.

Cook's series in the 10/11 Ashes probably worth a shout. He'd always been a decent player, averaging 40+, but until he scored the ton at The Oval v Pakistan the previous summer there'd been one or two whispers about his position. Even the most one eyed Pom (or "Corrin" as we call him) probably didn't see 766 runs.

Ramps has an incongruously decent record against the Crims too; can't think of one exceptional series (maybe 2001 without checking was his best?) but he averages 40+ compared to his career figure of about 3.
