Out of interest, would Aussie fans liked to have seen Lara play a classic innings and score a century instead of being wrongly given out for 30?
Umm, let me think about that one... YES! But I'm more of a Lara fan than an Aussie fan, so meh.

Yeah, nothing better than watching Lara bat. I wouldn't mind so much if he got a cracker from McGrath, but even though Lee's delivery was a good one it shouldn't have been out.

Samuels out for 5 (not that I can see it), another one for McGrath. If Australia get another wicket tonight this could be a walkover, given the West Indies' four-man tail. :(

Who's on the commentary on ABC at the moment?

One of them is an absolute nutter! :D

Dev Smith just left one from McGrath and got bowled apparently, out for 88. Real trouble now, need to save the follow-on at least.

The nutter is Kerry O'Keefe. Something of a cult figure. ;)

Michael Slater is on there too. Don't recognise the others right now.

I thought it was but I didn't recognise his voice since I last heard him.

He's a prat but a funny prat. :p

I personally think that Clarke has had it much too easy.

My sources also tell me that he has an ego the size of Mt Everest and is not the pleasant young man the media would have us believe.

QUOTE]

I bumped into Michael Clarke last week and had a quick chat to him. He wouldn't know me from a bar of soap but I found him to be just about the friendliest test player I've ever yakked to (along with Brett Lee). He didn't try to brush me, he was happy to chat, he looked at me when I was talking, had a smile on his face and he was forthcoming with his own points of view when he could have easily just listened to what I had to say and then p!ssed off.

Hardly gave me the impression that you describe.
I must say that I was extremely surprised by this when my friend revealed his opinion.

Anyway, whatever the truth of the matter, he's picked to play cricket not to win friends.

Hopefully, for his and Aus sake, he will fulfill his potential as he obviously has oodles of talent. However, I would feel more comfortable with him a spot or 2 lower and a "steadier" batsman being selected at no. 4.

Collymore has been bowling very well...he seems like another Srinath - beats the bat over and over and is extremely unlucky.
I seem to remember reading that about his bowling last time WI played a Test series as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't he a bowler though?
:laugh: well the way aussie batsman have been batting off late, he can make in to the team as a batsman.

Damn I'm disappointed with WI here, they were in a strong position. Lara's poor LBW decision really changed the game.

Honestly, what is the point of this post? Yes, he is a bowler. Does that mean it's bad that he's improving with the bat and being useful at number 9 for Australia? I'm not suggesting he's good enough to be picked with the bat alone, merely that, as I said, he continues to impress.

Cheers for remembering my quote SL, Age. :D

Great tail-wag for Australia, and then superb bowling, McGrath is a beast. I though Bracken was great, tried to swing it, couldn`t, then used seam movement to great effect. And that catch! Great day of cricket, so good having free periods when Bracken is batting! :D :D I`ve been pretty impressed by the West Indies so far.
