So one would think this effort from Carberry would secure his spot??

So Root back to No6 (where he should have stayed) just leaves the 3rd seamer to nut out before Brisbane and we're set.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if Tremlett bowls pies in this game. He's not really bowling off against anyone as the other options for his spot aren't playing. England still have that game against CA's Invitational Batting Lineup to sort it out I suppose but I think Tremlett seems to have the inside running judging by the lineup for this game.

Premature addaculation on your part I think. The wicket's a lot like your personality - low and slow.

I'm not sure there will be much of an issue with Tremmers ever bowling pies......more a question over his fitness and pace.

Assuming this wicket is as flat as the scorecard suggests this will be a perfect workout for the big fella.........a decent showing in tough conditions will probably get him the nod.

Hmmm, me thinks maybe you were first horse out the race Burgey.........how can it be "premature addaculation" when you blew first mate??

It does, as long as you aren't puffing dust.

God only knows what pop up ads the site will come up with now after these last few posts.

It'll be interesting to see how Carberry plays with a bit more bounce if there's some blokes around the bat to some slow stuff. He plays with very low hands.

Or maybe he just did today, I haven't seen a lot of him.

All good, 4 of our likely top 6 for Brisbane now have tons on tour. Over to the bowlers.
Be wonderful to see Root and Prior get some runs over the next 2 games.......not so worried about KP, he'll do his thing in the series regardless but really think Root and Prior could use some confidence boosting time in the middle before Brisbane.

To be fair, most of our bats got runs in our warm-ups too. But as we saw, that counted for about five overs.
Yep, fair call this.......only so much to be taken from these warm up games. But you'd still rather see your batsmen go into a series with some good runs under their belt than go in struggling.

The problem with Cook batting all day is that he is a player that once he finds his touch is hard to dislodge. Despite looking fairly good in the first couple of tests in England he never really got going and ended up having a ver disappointing series. That didn't happen last time they were in Australia, and if that continues we could be seeing a lot of runs from Cook.

Geez Paine's keeping was average today. Virtually every ball that beat the bat off the spinners was grassed. Won't stop random punters disregarding that and his FC century tally in backing his Test selection though.
