Yes Brumby Copeland's action has been this woeful throughout his career. I still can't quite believe the forum chaps who were rooting for Trent to be in Australia's Test team.

Serves Australia A right for picking a bowling unit that didn't make sense. Given the max 2 players per state side I would have got rid of Klinger and played Chadd Sayers.

Chadd already picked up one against the bulls.

Geez Paine's keeping was average today. Virtually every ball that beat the bat off the spinners was grassed. Won't stop random punters disregarding that and his FC century tally in backing his Test selection though.
What do people think of Hartley as a smokie? Is it true he's a good gloveman? He's alright with the bat and I see he's opening for Qld atm. Kind of thinking like a man that's saying if all there is to beat is Haddin and Wade then why aren't I playing tests?

Honestly, I want Nev as a replacement for Haddin when he goes. Of the rest of domestic 'keepers, they all either suck in one discipline (Wade, Paine), clearly aren't international standard (Handscomb, Dunk, Ludeman, Whiteman, Bancroft, Smith, Peirson et al). Except Hartley. He's not fantastic with the bat in terms of a career record, but he's definitely improved from being no more than an annoyance at 7 to a highly valued wicket by opposing attacks, and has come on in leaps and bounds as he's got older. Not to mention his glovework is very crisp (let's face it, we're comparing him to Wade here).

Once Haddin goes, I'd be looking at Nevill and Hartley as the two to use. Hartley's finally convinced me.

Big time. To the quicks anyway. Up to the stumps is anyone's guess since Queensland haven't bowled a spinner in 6 years.

Hartley's wicket keeping has always been quite over-rated for mine. He looks extremely tidy in the way he goes about it but just randomly drops sitters every so often despite being in the perfect position to take the catch. I think it has to be a bit of a mental panic thing. His batting's always been a bit the same in a way; he has a neat technique but just doesn't make the runs.

To be fair to him though his batting output has improved and he's definitely a better gloveman than Wade or contemporary Haddin. I'd still rather Nevill but I think we might all be kidding ourselves a bit with Nevill on Cricket Web in terms of how highly he's actually rated by the selectors.

With Broad and Tremlett made of glass, England might not risk bowling at all on this wet outfield.
