Well, he's proven he is better at getting gully slicers out than any non-Faulkner in the side - pick him in the Test side.

Interesting that Hughes is our frontline gully; thought Smith or Rogers would get the nod.
Well the field at time was Clarke at first, no-one at 2nd or 3rd, Watson at 4th slip/almost gully and then Hughes, so it's not a typical field. In the first tour match I remember Lyon was at gully (Watson at 1st, Clarke 2nd) on the first morning of the game.

Maybe a bigger test for a warm up would've been better (for both sides). Worcs' bowling attack is poor and it's clearly a road, even Twatto has made good runs.

It's good to see the quicks haven't been bashed around though. All have economies under 3.

it's just about impossible to find a picture of Smith batting that doesn't make him look stupid

Don't think I can continue my support of Compton now I've seen he wears his pads on the wrong legs

Fair play to Compton, gotta admire the fight hes been showing.

He should never of been binned to start with, its weird in that once he got those back to back tons in NZ that it seemed to put him under even more pressure, you would of thought he would of felt the pressure was off and played a bit more freely both physically and in the mind.

After NZ Compton should of been told his place was safe for Trent Bridge, for me he had done more than enough in India and NZ for him to be guaranteed to start the Ashes.

Well he hasn't been binned yet, and hopefully won't be. Done all that has been asked of him, unlike the Tyke duo.

Bird has 4 for the innings. Coincidently, Siddle has 4 wickets in his 4 games in England

So if Bird stays fit then Harris has to miss out surely seeing how they can't risk having both guys in the XI? Pattinson, Starc (variety), Bird and Lyon would be good.

Edit: Unless Harris' isn't a big liability fitness-wise all of a sudden.
