*Official* VB Series - Australia, India & Zimbabwe

OH Gosh what helluva of a rivalry this is turning out to be btw india and aus. Poor me i havent even watched a single match of the VB series. :( .

First the test matches and now the One dayers.Though its 2-1 in favor of australia, India should not lose heart. Because the matches they lost were close ones and could have gone anywhere. Also there was no Tendulkar and sehwag in this match, still India made a good total. I wonder what will happen once they are back for the Finals. I reckon they may come back even before that. Australia's bowling has been unable to leave any impact on the Indian batsman. going into the Finals i think India would have the upper hand.

India really need to do something abt that fool. I mean patel. Almost in every game right from the test series he has missed crucial chances. Ganguly should realise that even though he is keeping well above than any would have done at his age, but it is no where near the international level.
there are better wicket keeper batsman in India than patel. there talent and career is being ruined just because of the fact that parthiv is young and ganguly is persisting, no matter how many mistakes he makes.
This fact annoys me, and i wonder what would be the mental state of other young aspiring keepers who r better than him, but still get no chance. Even if they get any chance, that wont be as much as patel has got.

Last word: I think India will win its next match against Australia.

watch the replays, if u've already condemned rahul then u won't see it but if u watch it closely its quite obvious it was accidental. when he licked his finger the lozenge stuck on it and what looked like him rubbing the lozenge into the ball was actually him trying to swipe it off after he saw it. plus, anyone who knows dravid's character would know he would never cheat, and also, he's not an idiot, he knows there are cameras everywhere and that he would never get away with something like that if he'd done it on purpose.
Character has nothing to do with it.
Both Atherton and Tendulkar werent exactly 'BAD' people before they got done for ball tampering.
As for using the excuse that he wouldnt try something with so many cameras about, it doesnt stop players slating each other when they are just 2 feet from the stump mic :).

To be perfectly honest he shouldnt have being even using his siliva to shine the ball if he had a sweet in his mouth. (and yes i know players have done that since the beginning of time but everyone knows it gives them an advantage in shining the ball). SO maybe Dravid isnt the angel people believe :)

That's true Jagaways. What I feel is, since Rahul upset all other people(than Indians) with his chanceless majestic performance, they need him to be down atleast somewhere. We all know he is one of the well behaving individual/cricketer and what might have happened is an accident( all are aware of the camera coverage.Even otherwise, if it is a purposeful act, why should he keep the ball at the chest height and not hiding his act with other palm like magicians do?). so all the comments against it ...just discard it. It won't affect Rahul and India.

I don't know about Artherton's case, but what I know is Sachin hasn't done the criminal ball tampering( example, keeping the cooldrinks-matal cap in pocket to scratch ball, keeping water packets in pocket that happened in PAK-NZL series in early 90s). What he had done is just cleaning up of the dirt of seam( which he shouln't have done). He used to do the same before getting fined and nobody had found that as tampering(once Rasaq had complained about Sachin's "tampering" and the rest of the Pak team apologised for that)

sachin might have been picking dirt outta the seem... or he might have been ripping seem out of the ball ... geez... why dont they just leave the ball alone...

and dravid looked to spread that lollie a fair way across 1 surface of the ball... and ganguly was pretty near by 2:P

Because nobody wants to bowl with a dirty seam.:P

Yeah.. that itself shows it was not a hidden act and the Captain thought of it as normal shining with saliva.:P

gee buddy i dont know bout u but my saliva is clearly white :P

when rahul blatently puts yellow all over the ball then thinks that rubbing it alllllll over the surface is going to get rid of it ... why dind't he just rub the ball on his shirt and start off with a clean slate... or is that beyond him and ganguly?

maybe ganguly was encouraging him? he's gets pretty infactuated by winning... we all saw how cut he was after the first test match

and as for sachin not wanting a dirty seam... maybe he should have just left it alone cause after all ... ur not spose to screw with the seam...:!(

Cleaning dirt from any part of the ball isnot screwing..:!( :!( But Sachin was fined by stating ,he tried to pull out the thread off the seam( which never happened):cool2:

It seems as though there might be some added pressure on the allrounders' spots in Australia's OD team. Shane Watson has resumed bowling today with figures (to date) of 2/23 from 6 overs. He was the incumbent before he injured his back last year and his batting has always shown promise (he scored 53 in the 1st innings of the current Pura Cup match).

I say another good performance and bring him back. That means bye bye to Harvey if he returns any more 0/68s. Harvey was Watto's replacement and if Watto is as good or better than he was than we need him!

Be fair on Harvey - he's performed brilliantly with the ball during and since the WC, and these days he's in the ODI squad on bowling alone.

And besides, his coach, mentor and close friend died on Monday - how do you expect someone to come out and perform at their best 3 days later?

Oh, and if he gets dropped for his innings last night, blame Michael Clarke - he blatantly ran him out (I know a lot of you think he is god, but he committed 2 brain explosions yesterday, and this was one of them!).

Clarke looks to be a bit of a Lou Vincent in the field...he can pull off some fantastic catches & saves, but he can also get over-keen and make some comical errors.

So what do you do when there's runs to get and no time to get them? Singles aren't gonna do it all the way, buddy. Leaving them to the last minute just creates more pressure. He was trying to relieve that pressure and as I said he had well placed faith in the lower order. The situation called for a slog and slog is what he did. The idea with the aussies is that if you get out going for it there's another one behind you to do it. No point in bunting it around.

I don't mind Harvey either, but the fact is Watto is a better bowler than Harvey. So if Harvey is in for his bowling well then Watto should replace him already. But his batting completely eclipses Harvey and that increases the gap.

He's not going to get dropped. However, once Watson gets recalled, he will have to be as he was a replacement. It may take a while, but it's got to happen sooner or later. They arn't going to call up Watson after one game.
