The height at which the bowl hits the wickets shown by the hawk eye is very suspect indeed. Thats not what I was referring to though. They show lines on the pitches and the decisions in question have had balls pitching on line with low height not given out. The pitching in line seemd to have been missed by the umpires.
I wasn't referring to the height. I was referring to the conductor. There is a person who has to sort the deliveries and cue them for processing and play back and that is where hawkeye tends to fall short a lot of the time. The human link messes up.

How on earth you give Clarke credit for Symonds' score I'll never know.
Didn't you know?

Clarke can do anything - he is a folk hero.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was him who designed Ned Kelly's helmet.

I went to the match yesterday as I have pointed out I was going to, and I've come to the conclusion that I am a jynx to the India. That or our bowling isn't up to standard, but I prefer to blame myself to have some hope for India in the VB series as it seems any time I go see India play they lose. :(

Here's my complaints/observations at why India lost this match.

Firstly when a side is giving you wickets like Australia did, you HAVE to take advantage of that. India didn't earn many of their wickets, hell neither did Australia so when the batsman are getting themselves out then your bowlers must take advantage. Ganguly bowling 5 overs costing 40 runs was plain stupid. They should of bowled more of Sehwag or given Tendulkar a bowl. I was very disappointed at Ganguly bowling 5 overs.

Secondly India's, and specifically Ganguly's fielding was quite poor. It was clear that in ODI's, Yuvraj and Kaif are crucial inside the circle and with Kaif missing it showed. I am a big fan of both of these players as ODI specialists, hell Australia won because of Clarke, Symonds and Harvey, all specialists. That's why Kaif and Yuvraj are so important to India.

Ponting's catch was under 1 second after Tendulkar hit that. That's amazing. Really that catch turned the game and from then on India had to rely on singles with the odd four rather than a four every over as Sachin was hitting.

To the person who said Yuvraj isn't up to ODI standard. That's a joke, the guy is young, enthusiastic and in ODI's running between wickets is crucial. Clarke and Symonds showed that as they are quick, and Yuvraj was pushing Ganguly for the extra runs which put pressure on the Australian fieldsman. India have to start converting 1's into 2's like the Aussies do and Yuvraj did that. Not to mention he did is job by giving Ganguly strike to hit the fours and sixes.

Bangar? Why? He added absolutely nothing to the game. His medium pace was hardly a threat and he ran out his captain. Even if there wasn't a single there he should of just run as Ganguly was half way down the pitch and would of got to his end leaving only Bangar to be run out. With Ganguly still there batting very well India were still a chance.

Lastly, Dravid has to stop keeping plain and simple. For India and his benefit. I would of played Patel. He has shown he can do it with the bat, and is a better keeper than Dravid. Patel may have his critics, but I'm a supporter and I hope Bangar is dropped for Patel. They played Bangar because he's an allrounder, well he added nothing to the game. Not bowling and definitely not batting. Sehwag and Sachin should make up the fifth bowler. I'm guessing that Dravid batting at 5 instead of 3 was as a result of him being keeper, well stop keeping him damn it. He's a specialist batsman, he should be allowed to be able to perform his best.

In the end I'm just really disappointed that both the Boxing Day tests (I was there for the first 4 days) and yesterday's ODI which I attended were both lost by India. Yet when I watch them on TV they win. Something fishy is going on. Anyway I will definitely be going to the first final, and I'm guessing it will be Australia vs. India so I hope they can win that for me :D Oh and the millions of other fans that support them as well ;)

Finally I'll add my team for the next ODI and I hope they play it.

Sehwag
Tendulkar
Dravid
Ganguly
Laxman
Yuvraj
Patel
Agarkar
Kumble
Balagi
Pathan

I know that's a weak bowling line up but what can we do? :(

Why not Kartik for either Balaji or Pathan? I don't see the harm of it. He's bowled well recently in ODI's and Balaji especially doesn't seem to offer that much.

I don't mind bowling Kartik, that could be a good idea, I was only thinking that with Tendulkar and Sehwag there bowling spin they could make up the second spinner.

I really feel we should give Dravid a complete rest for the next match. The poor guy will die else :). And I dont think Bangar was a great selection over Bangar. Maybe Ganguly just wanted to make his point by putting him because he wanted Bangar in the test team but Bangar wasnt selected. Now that he is picked, I dont think its fair to him to be dropped. You have to give players a fair run if you pick them .Chosing players randomly and dropping them again never works. Thats why I feel even Balaji and Pathan should be persisted with. If nothing else, they are very young and would gain experience playing Zimbabwe.

Kartik deserves some rest after being smashed all over the park in the test matches. Maybe he can be brought after India plays 3 one dayers for a bowler not pefroming as well.

Just curious to know one thing , Australia has lowered down its standards, India has raised its standards. Or both things have happened in this India Aus test series.?. I remember one cricketer saying that once Mcgrath , Mark Waugh and Shane Warne are not playing , Australia becomes a good team which can be beaten occasioaly ,Other wise its excellent..... I know many things have been said ,But I need a short answer thanx..

IMO it is a combination of both. I don't think the Indian batsman are getting as much credit as they should. The Aus bowling is only missing McGrath in this series especially as it is against India. I think the Indians have raised their standards too. For most of the series , i thought the Aussies bowled well but the Indian batsman were too good. I still rate the present the Australian bowling attack with Gillespie , Williams , Lee , Bichel and MacGill as no.2 after Pakistan and they have a great batting lineup. Don't forget they played on very flat tracks. The series after this should provide a more clearer picture.

What is this "Ajit Agarkar appreciation society".
In one meaning its a disgrace for Ajit Agarkar.
He is an "International cricketer". And he is supposed to take 6 wickets. There is no need for making such socities.lolol.According to the members of AAAS ,It means he is a cripple and a handicap and 6 wickets hawl or 1 or 2 good performances in one series is unexpected to get from AA.Cmon its just an excellent performance from an International bowler thats it .Not a big deal ...

Fraz you don't have to be so dramatic. It's just an association which appreciates Agit Agarkar, a man who has received much criticism and being mocked by many, especially here in Australia. It's a harmless group who doesn't need crusades from you to claim they are disrespecting Agit.

There's one thing worth bearing in mind regarding His Regal Left-handedness's runout - (well, 2 actually)

1. The ball was in front of square - Bangar's call
2. Bangar was on the back foot.

I think that it was Ganguly's fault

/probably started a flame war but it had to be said
IMO Bangar should have ran anyway, he may have been out, but at least Ganguly still would of been at the crease. They would of had a a chance.

And please AA learn to slog.

The AAAS was formed in excess of a year ago - certainly well before the last World Cup.

It was formed in part as a dig at all the supporters (Indian and otherwise) who claimed that he was finished, a flash in the pan, rubbish etc.

We were reminding people that he had a test century at Lords, he was the fastest person to 50 ODI wickets in history and (naturally) 7 consecutive ducks against Australia.

In short, Ajit Agarkar is an icon of Cricket Web (and he's got ears to rival Andy Caddick).

**Official Announcement from the Vice President of the AAAS: Masterblaster**

Just to clarify to FRAZ and any other Cricket Web forum member. The AAAS is a formidable and united society. We have already over 20 members and hopefully by 2005 we will have doubled the number of our International Members.

We here at the Ajit Agarkar Appreciation Society were founded not as a mock gesture or a negative gesture towards Ajit, we were founded because we are his number 1 support team and fan club. We always have and we always will be!

Ajit is the icon of Cricket Web, and the entire AAAS fully supports and loves Ajit Agarkar's performances. We will continue to support him throughout is bad days and bad performances, and we will continue to praise him and support him when he shines and produces wonderful performances like he did just recently.

Ajit Agarkar is a once in a lifetime cricketer, and the AAAS is simply a tribute and is simply the first and premier fan club of Mr. Ajit Agarkar.

It is incredibly easy to become a member of the AAAS. Simply modify your signature and include:

"Proud Member of the AAAS"

Its that easy!

I thought it was formed in response to his Lord's ton making him, in the words of one forum member, "a world-class All-rounder"?
