I still think Zondek, whilst not having a good game against SL, is a good prospect for SA. Better than Steyn currently anyway. Steyn quite clearly turns into fodder when he loses his confidence, and fodder + no ball fever can often equal 5 or 7 runs per ball.

Actually, I was impressed with Dorey. He wasn't moving it that much,but just enough to make it hard to middle, and hitting high on the bat.

As his figures make out, I don't necessarily think OD cricket is his game, but what he produced was about on par with what I expected.

with the form that lee is in iam worried what he will do to the inexperienced SL openers on sunday. I hope SL doesnt decide to open with jayasuriya either way, because jayasuriya will be more valuable to the team down the order during the slog overs.

Lee has been pretty consistent all summer, not quite sure what your getting at there - Lee got MOTM too.

Hogg bowled really well again - highly underrated bowler for mine.

The current Lankan ODI side, whatever be the combination, can't be far better than this one.

Tharanga is a wicket keeper, but whether he is any good in that role at FC level , only someone who has watched him at this level can say.

For him to retain his position in the Team, he needs to score consistently instead of giving his wicket away nicking balls that need not be played.

If Sangakkara is given the Captaincy , then someone else may be required to be the wicket keeper to reduce the load on Sanga and Tharanga could be trialled as an option for this role if he is a good wicket keeper at FC level. Unfortunately I don't know this, having not watched him at FC level. Dinu or someone who may have seen him may be able to shed light on this.

sanath is going to be available for the sunday game against Australia.

I am unsure if he should be brought straight back into this Team . If anything I would be tempted to make him just a Super sub only.

I would play the same team that played SA and drop Bandara and replace Sanath as Super sub.

I know Aussies have not played Bandara before, but the Aussies have no problems facing spinners like SA and therefore I would be not tempted to play Bandara against the Aussies yet , even though it is at the SCG.

Otherwise retain the same team, but it will be a shame to not use Sanath J to see if he has recovered some or any of his batting form or whether he should spend more of this series on the sidelines.

Definitely keep him . The only variable is whether he still plans to go back for the birth of his child.

If that happens don't blame me .

I expect Chandana to come in then.

I suspect there may be an announcement on Murali after tomorrow's game at the SCG.

I agree. I think people can sometimes over-complicate things when it comes to batting orders for ODI's. The cornerstone of your approach should be getting your best batsmen facing the bulk of the overs (or at least giving them the opportunity to do so). To that end, Attapatu should be no lower than four.
