Nice hit for six there from Watson (who has to produce something this game, you would think).

Why the hell are all the daggers out for Clarke??? The argument that the guy shouldn't be in the top order seems belied by the form he's been in up to this point in the tournament. Hayden was having quite a poor trot, but Clarke's been in great form.

The ball that got Martyn DID look like it shot through a little low... I'm gonna reserve judgement on how Pakistan are placed until I see them bat though. :)

Hmmm, this deck isn't the great batting surface the commentators are portraying it to be. The LBW against Gillie earlier was quite short and kept low and Martyn was just bowled by one which stayed down. And Gillie's dismissal was of one which pitched fuller than the other deliveries in the over but bounced higher.

I don't think this will be easy for Pakistan at all especially under lights.

largely by scoring runs against sub continental bowling attacks and b'desh etc. his record against england,WI and SA is hardly flattering.
You do have a point there but u have to remember that their are many players who have worse records aganist those countries and are still regulars in their sides. I could be wrong but i doubt guys like Vaughan, Trescothick, Atapattu and some others have worse records but still continuely get picked for their countries, cus there isn't anyone better to replace them.

Pakistan are well on top now with Martyn out. Can watson show his potential and get the a good score on this pitch

im sure that lehmann doesnt weigh significantly more than hayden. and no im not saying hes unfit, lehmann is shorter, hence he tends to look fatter.
He IS fatter. I've seen him almost nude (my eyes may never recover - he wasn't wearing pants, either), and let's just say that I don't think Matthew Hayden has ****.

Martyn was moving his lips like he was swearing... in addition to leaving his bat and helmet and walking off. This is a level three breach of the ICC rules isn't it?

Yeah, IN THE SUB-CONTINENT! He scored 503 runs in a losing series averaging over 100. And that's just an example. I can't believe you would denigrate anyone's run-scoring against India IN India.
no because his ability to play spin has never been in doubt.

And he averages 51 against SA in Tests, 48 against England, and 41 against the WI (pretty good considering the start he had against them). You call that less than flattering? Where's your head at?!
err im referring to ODIs. in test matches you only have to remember the last time he ever scored on a seamer friendly wicket(before realising that hes never ever done it)

Just wondering; are you familiar with the term 'curmudgeon'?

I think TEC is talking ODI not Test here

Somehow I missed all this... I'm certain it's not a level 3 breach (they're usually pretty serious offences, IIRC), but given that you coudn't charge him with dissent (seeing as he was bowled), I'm not really sure.

Actually, the ball to Martyn did stay low; but what did him was the movement not the bounce. Though an arguement can be made that on true bounce the ball would have passed over the stumps.

Anyway, Mr. Splashy hair gone.

yes there have been, but IMO id have clarke ahead of him. if they can drop bevan for clarke, surely they can drop hayden.

Batsmen are allowed to swear, y'know. It's onlyif they direct it at the opposition and/or the umpire where it becomes a problem and even then, I think the administrators of the game are far too quick to nail players for relatively minor indescretions.

Watson shouldn't have been out! that ball was well above waist hight should have been called a no ball..

that's two great shots he has gotten out two this series now, I just wish he would get a chance to build an innings and not have to slog everytime he bats..

perhaps if i happened to see him nude(not something that id want to do either), i would change my mind, but IMO hes not as fat as people make him out to be.

IMO Elliott in front of both, his record in ING Cup as well as in England has been amazing. He also got runs against WI at the start of the season and NZ playing for FICA XI.

I've seen Boof completely nude when I played against him. Although not the most sculptered body I've seen, he's a chunk of muscle. Not a HUGE amount of fat on him these days.

But they aren't allowed to kick the ground and leave their bat and helmet there. No my friend, it's time for the ICC to be fair. There has been so many times where Asians get fines and bans over nothing.

And I could probably name quite a few instances where Aussies have had fines against them for minor incidents too.

The ONLY one I can think of against an Asian player which was totally unfair was when Sehwag was banned for two matches for over-appealing. That was a joke. Other than that, all sides tend to cop a hammering over minor things.
