We all saw how Younis Khan kept today; luck doesn't last forever. Kamran Akmal more then compesates for Younis Khan's batting with his excellent keeping.

The above team has a very strong lower-middle order and can easily chase scores upto 280-300. Bowling with or without either Khalil or Rao is no great shakes, so it would be best to go with the better disciple and throw in Mahmood to strengthen the batting line-up.

Edit: Sorry meant Khalil. Both are pretty interchangeable anyway.

This is a very strong Batting line up with Younis Khan keeping again.
I think, we have to include him since without him a big collapse is possible.
Khalil has bowled well today, so that he deserves to play in the next match.. Only so he could stabilise himself.

Anyway, well chased Pakistan, always amusing to see an Aussie blowout. I think Pakistan have to stick with Kamran Akmal keeping - it's not as if they're carrying a substandard batsman there, and he's a damn sight better keeper than Younis.

During the match they showed the top 6 scorers of the series and it was intersting to see that there was only one australian among them, which was clark who was on top. It highlights the lack of consistency the australian batsmen have had this series. Many of them are out of form.

Younis Khan to return home after father's death

The Pakistan batsman Younis Khan is returning home from Australia after learning of the death of his father.

Younis, 27, heard the news shortly after Pakistan's three-wicket victory over Australia in today's VB Series match at Perth.

A Cricket Australia spokesman told AFP that Younis was "shattered", and would leave Perth on the first available flight.

Good victory by pak today, was totally unexpected considering the way they folded on this same WACA pitch in the test series.
I thought it was a bit odd that hafeez, after putting in a relativley decent knock together in the last game, was dropped for this one.

kamran akmal made a century 2 or 3 games ago and theyv'e already dropped hiM? he's made some solid lookin knocks and his keepin is more than competent...why on earth did they pick younis khan over him? yasir hameed is a gd batsman, but with shoaib malik not bowling now, i think it's better off playing hafeez as the extra bowler as well. until shoaib malik can bowl again at least

mahmood and anjum seem similar bowlers, with mahmoods' batting far outweighing anjum's batting....

this side has a left arm seamer, 3 right arm seamers, a quality leg spinner, plus an off spinner... salman butt seems to be bowling a fwe overs here and there as well

so there's plenty of variety and there's 6 bowlers there to pick from, so quiet a solid lineup in bowling...batting wise, any lineup with mahmood at 9, and akmal at 8 is a solid batting line up......


this is al on the assumption that hafeez can open, and if not, i'd say a direct swap between hafeez and akmal, so as to not disrupt the steady middle order
