Not seen any of it as SA v SL being shown here, but surprised to see that given he had a gate the size of Brandenburg against England.Seriously good innings given the circumstances. Hype might be back with that.
Yeah that dismissal in particular was hmmm. But he's played a lone hand here, no one else got to 30.Not seen any of it as SA v SL being shown here, but surprised to see that given he had a gate the size of Brandenburg against England.
3rd 5-for in the tournament for him. Sensational.Maphaka.... Yeah man
Going by the teams performance or lack there of in that mini triangular that included India and Afghanistan where we only scraped one win. If we reach the semis it would be an achievement for that team IMHOThere's been some very in-and-out performances by SA. The batting is a concern with only really Pretorius, Stolk and Marais stepping up. Mainly talking Teeger and Seletswane. The bowling is more complete with Luus and Norton with Maphaka.
I think so. There has been better teams than this. But Conrad started improving the U19 system again so hopefully we are seeing the benefits.Going by the teams performance or lack there of in that mini triangular that included India and Afghanistan where we only scraped one win. Didn't Aiden top score that tournament and average over 100?The only SA u19 WC win was really off the back of Rabada dominating the tournament... Markram was in that team as well, with a few other FC names. I generally think the way this tournaments plays out is that you have a couple of extremely good talented players, winning games for there teams rather than complete teams of excellence. So having 2 or 3 bats doing well and 2 or 3 bowlers doing well in your team, is doing pretty good overall.
He was definitely near the top if not at the top.Didn't Aiden top score that tournament and average over 100?
Obviously, there are reasons why the two sports have different provincial boundaries, but it's bit of a weird quirk that Norton being from Stellenbosch means that he represents Boland at cricket but Western Province at rugby. So much to work with, with Norton.
Can bat. Technically sound.
First change bounce bowler.
Wonder if WP take him from Boland ! Stuff the rugby.
Ha! It really is. Often thought about it. I guess Cape Town is producing more players these days to compete with the absolute rugby factory in Paarl, Wellington, Stellenbosch area.Obviously, there are reasons why the two sports have different provincial boundaries, but it's bit of a weird quirk that Norton being from Stellenbosch means that he represents Boland at cricket but Western Province at rugby.
Yeah, it's a very unfair format, but Maphaka is clearly class and essentially bowled SA into the semis anyway. Looks like rain would have kept us at bay in any case. Not a very satisfactory way to get knocked out.So SA will play India in the semis. Pretty certain it'll be Aus v Pak in the other.
SA qualify because they knew they had to chase down 270 against Scotland inside 31 overs. You'd like to think that the ICC would take note of this and not let it happen again......clearly won't though.
As a team you can only play the conditions in front of you. SA did well to take advantage of the situation. So SA will play India in the semis. Pretty certain it'll be Aus v Pak in the other.

Yeah, it was a great effort achieving that chase in 31 overs, but unless they know what's required, they obviously don't even try it.As a team you can only play the conditions in front of you. SA did well to take advantage of the situation.
The ICC do need to have the last group games at the same time. It is a big advantage to play knowing what you need to do.
