I don't mind carrying results through, but surely you then play all the teams from the other group, not just 2 out of 3 of them.
I agree, England will have played SA and WI in the group and will have played Aus and Zim in the 6s and not Sri Lanka. Crazy.

Having been thrashed by Australia today doubt it would have made any difference, even if they had been in the other 6s group if they had beaten the WI. Clearly not going to win the tournament.

Top 4 for Semis almost guaranteed as Ind, Pak, Aus and SA. First three probably unbeaten at least England can say they beat SA earlier on.

Yep stupid format. West Indies could quite possibly win 4 out of 5, defeating England, Sri Lanka and Australia, narrowly losing one match, and not qualify. We may well lose to Australia anyway, but if we don't and still don't qualify because SA played way weaker sides than us and got a run rate boost, it really doesn't seem fair.

I guess we have to remember that player development is the most important thing and at least we can say our guys have been really tested having only played one associate side.

The way Sam Konstas bats does not match the manufactured hype around him
Yeah he's looser than I thought he'd be. Dixon has been much more impressive but he's very much "just" a hitter at this stage.

Vidler for an Australian call-up within 12 months, you heard it here first.
This is way early lol (I believe he hasn't set the world on fire in QLD first grade so far) but... I could maybe see it? There's a real chance that he's "got it" and I like that he has an actual fast bowler's build, not a gym rat's.

Yeah, Under 19's success does not necessarily equate to future achievements. Of the England side that made the Final 2 years ago, only two players (Rehan and Rew) would be remotely on England's radar. Most are just doing averagely at their respective Counties.

Weibgen's innings yesterday was the star of the show, he'd be the one I'd be looking out for.

Give it time, good players in that final even if they lost to India. Some county sides are harder to break into. Don't recognise any of the India side either, but no surprise there.

One other I should mention is Coles who I think was in the squad but not the team, currently playing in the Lions v India A match. As you say, some County sides are harder to break into whilst Sussex, for example, are not. Coles debuted aged 16 and is still only 19 now having already played 20 FC matches.

I mean you're right. It's obviously a bold call and I certainly don't expect it to happen. But it wouldn't be the first time that Australia called up someone off very little FC experience, especially as a bowler. I mean, he's older than our captain was when he made his Test debut...

Of course, key question is whether Queensland play him, and it's hard to see who he overtakes especially if Neser doesn't make the New Zealand tour.

I mean that's why I point out his apparently modest grade record so far. It's probably for the best that he dominates that level first.

Stolk is box office. No fear for risk. Even the little cameos give your team a good start and the opposition are on the back foot.

Riley Norton at 17 is SA Schools Rugby and cricket. Hopefully he choses cricket like the last person who did both in Ruan De Swardt.

Both SA and Aus struggling, could yet get interesting.

Come on WI (my new support in this as I'd like to see the daft format somehow broken).

Konstas has more than a little bit of a young Michael Clarke in him with the way he sets up at the crease.
