Why are Pakistani always talking about fast bowling?

You guys are putting too much stress on sheer speed, and the result is that cricketers are trying to bowl fast irrespective of the legitimacy of their bowling action.
Its because if u have speed u can learn reverse swing frm the senior players around you. speed and agrassions are the most importanat parts of fast bowling and it can not taught, its natural. somebody who is not aggrasive and fast can not be trained to become one Look for how many years Dennis Lillee have been paid by Indians to produce fast bowlers and in that period there has been only 2 delieveries ovar 150 KMPH by the bowlers who have been spent upon i am sure millions of $ in last 15 Yrs.

England U-19 need 250 to reach the final, let's just hope that a certain Mr Cook can keep up his Bradmanesque form and get those runs!

Final

Pakistan v west indies wasnt the final everybody would have expected.Pakistan are probably favorites now and i would think that many players would break into the senior squad in a couple of years.

Would make a change if they did. The England U19s won the WC in 1998/9 and the only player who played in that tourney in the England full and academy squads right now is Michael Lumb, who was in the SA side.

And who is making a right fool of himself in the India A tour, I might add...

England Bowling Apart from Harrison was Average,

Bresnan look ok at times but lacks the Killer touch
Harrison bowled well and has a good Future
Stiff was Average
Lawson did really well flight it up and made the batsman drive but he did not look like taking wickets

Harrison took 8 wickets in 6 matches - that's more average to me, when you compare with Bresnan:

7 matches - 17 wickets @ 14.17 - if that's lacking the killer touch, how many wickets should he have taken?

He should've bowled it flatter!

The West Indies team are a bunch of permanent underdogs it seems. They went into the England game where England were called the 'favourites' and now they're going into the final v Pakistan after a convincing semi-final win, and Pakistan are still widely regarded as favourits. :)

He should've bowled it flatter!

But they lack Class and when thwey get a Yard more of Pace they will NEVER play for England as it is the same as other bowlers

Lawson only consided 4 an over, Flat bowl would have gone for more

No-one said anything about playing for England, I was taking issue with you saying one of the top wicket-takers in the Tournament "lacking the killer touch"

And flat spin would almost certainly have not gone for more runs.

Er, flat spin is almost always more economical than flighted spin. Simple physics.

Bresnan looked a quality act, very much in the glenn mcgrath mode. although he needs to work in the gym to put on a yard or 2 more of pace.

Lawson looked good, im glad he flighted the ball than just bowled it flat, yes he may have conceeded less runs if he'd have bowled flatter but it wouldnt have helped his development as a spin bowler. He looked alot of Mustaq Ahmed in his style although maybe not as much arm speed.
