Colly and Bell have spent so much time in the pavilion it's ridiculous. Have them up the order. Strauss can still captain. One more game for KP, confidence players like him thrive on middle time.

Next week is the only respite the bowlers are getting before the end of the series, get them out. Another audition match for Tremlett & Bres.

Morgan and Davies to play, why else are they on the tour?

Strauss
Davies
Bell
Colly
Mogs
KP
Prior
Bresnan
Shaz
Tremlett
Monty

Any idea what the Vics side will be like? Would Siddle play for example? What about Hodge, Dussey, McDonald, Hastings?

Doubt Siddle would play after putting in such a shift in the second test, Hodge has given FC cricket away & McDonald has a cracked pinky.

Hussey minor and Hastings would be chomping at the bit tho, you'd imagine. The former especially could get get a gig this series.

I'm quite looking forward to the end of these meaningless warm-ups where our batsmen fill their boots against 3rd-string opposition. Bring on the proper cricket

Don't think Victoria's bowling will be at full strength - we have an aging attack as it is, and there will possibly be two debutants playing (one a bowler, Herrick, one a batsman, Keath).

Hopefully a couple of Victorian bowlers do their bit for Australia and make sure they fully utilise their quota of 2 beamers per innings.

Was interesting reading over the Swann argument earlier in this thread.
Yeah, Aussies didn't think he would do much but i knew he'd be the man to win us a game at some stage. Might do it in Sydney too and i guess the extra bounce will help in Perth.

The guy won tests in South Africa, now Australia.

He's a gun. Possibly the best bowler in the world, and easily the best spinner in the world. Time people just accept it.

Agree with that Jono, says a lot about him that he got a 5 for in his 2nd test down under when Murali never got one. I know the batting was better in Murali's day but still a decent performance by Swanny.

His average for the series so far is 35.77, which is very good for Australia, however the series isn't close to over yet and he had some very favourable conditions to bowl in for the last days in Adelaide. I don't think anyone though is really denying he is the best spinner in the world.

He's had favourable conditions and also just about the worst conditions a spinner can bowl in.
