Hoggard goes nice and early.
After so long out, it would be lunacy to have him miss the only proper warm up game then pick him.howardj said:Can't help but think Giles is merely being rested for this game, and that he'll play in Brisbane.
No he didn`t. He didn`t look threatening at all, and his wickets were all caught in the deep. Whiiiiinggggge.Laurrz said:am i the only one that would rather Penasar than Giles [being an aussie fan]
im not sure... Panesar seems to be struggling to find wickets in these wickets.. where they don't offer much turn to the offies... however Giles bowled well at the SCG the other day and seems to give it more air...
anyway
good little recovery by these two... have dug the team out of some trouble....

Bell 23
PC 23
two spinners are bowling atm.. i think these two much prefer spin than the pace.. for SA anyway
Has he changed much since the last time we did see him?Laurrz said:good day for England... concern for Tait
Englands middle order could be a huge thorn for Australia... but we got our trump card under our sleeves and they haven't seen him yet this summer... SK Warne
For as long as the Australian selectors show interest in him, that's my guess anyway.Mister Wright said:How much longer will S.A. persist with Dan Cullen? His FC record is far from flash, and he really struggles to take wickets.
Well done by England today.
Slow runs are better than no runs - here's hoping the other less thoughtful batsmen in the side take note...Mister Wright said:Bell & Collingwood putting toether a nice partnership, albeit a slow one.
A strike rate of 55.00 (Bell 132 from 240 balls) and 46.51 (Colly) isn't really that slow, it's about what you would want from your batsmen after the first three bats went for 22 runs.marc71178 said:Slow runs are better than no runs - here's hoping the other less thoughtful batsmen in the side take note...
Thats about right, not to mention that warm ups are more about how much time you spend at the crease than how many runs you score anyways.Gloucefan said:A strike rate of 55.00 (Bell 132 from 240 balls) and 46.51 (Colly) isn't really that slow, it's about what you would want from your batsmen after the first three bats went for 22 runs.
