am i the only one that would rather Penasar than Giles [being an aussie fan]
im not sure... Panesar seems to be struggling to find wickets in these wickets.. where they don't offer much turn to the offies... however Giles bowled well at the SCG the other day and seems to give it more air...
anyway
good little recovery by these two... have dug the team out of some trouble....

two spinners are bowling atm.. i think these two much prefer spin than the pace.. for SA anyway
im not sure... Panesar seems to be struggling to find wickets in these wickets.. where they don't offer much turn to the offies... however Giles bowled well at the SCG the other day and seems to give it more air...

Bailey and Cullen have been hammered, really. Tait and Gillespie seem to have gone okay, particularly Tait who has three wickets now.
No mention of the new ball being taken in the commentary.

Gillespie knocks over Pietersen and then Tait leaves the field with an apparent injury of some sort, mid-over. I guess that settles his place in the team then.

England would be reasonably satisfied with their batting heading into the first test after the disastrous start in Canberra. All the specialist batsman have had one significant innings after Bell and Collingwood's efforts today. It's an important knock for Jones currently.
