Bell the eternal optimist taking a new guard.
Rearranging the deckchairs.Yet again we find ourselves in a situation which instantly begs the question - "why is Ian Bell not batting at 3?" How can you ever hope to compete on a consistent basis if your batting is based on an assumption (not just the possibility) of permanent crisis when the best batsmen is playing himself in? A crisis which would be less likely if he was at 3.
He hardly bowls pies, but Australia is hunting as a pack. If England was scoring more freely the pressure would be on Lyon. But every bowler is contributing. It's the best we have bowled since Warne and McGrath retiredWhy does Lyon get away with so many pies? Clarke has such immense field settings, a carry over from the series in England.
Leg stump dart followed by another long hop.Good pie from Lyon first up to Stokes. Stokes clearly avoiding the carbs.
Been 3/4 fall agonizingly short though. There have been a lot of play and misses this innings, but no one has been caught in the slips.
He turned one too though...and a couple left close to the stumps. He doesn't have enough control to land everything all the time. But if we're talking pies, how's Swanny going?Leg stump dart followed by another long hop.
3 Ashes series and 160 more wickets at a better average at last count mateHe turned one too though...and a couple left close to the stumps. He doesn't have enough to land everything all the time. But if we're talking pies, how's Swanny going?
I don't you can really think about seeing off any of this attack. They're relentless.Who'd have thought commentators would question people getting out to Ryan Harris as a consequence of losing concentration after seeing off Mitchell Johnson before this series.
