Good to see Pietersen doing his bit to ensure two new guys are at the crease together. Such a team player.

Agree on Siddle too, has bowled well this series, just hasn't got the rewards (apart from KP nearly every time).

Yet again we find ourselves in a situation which instantly begs the question - "why is Ian Bell not batting at 3?" How can you ever hope to compete on a consistent basis if your batting is based on an assumption (not just the possibility) of permanent crisis when the best batsmen is playing himself in? A crisis which would be less likely if he was at 3.

Why does Lyon get away with so many pies? Clarke has such immense field settings, a carry over from the series in England.
He hardly bowls pies, but Australia is hunting as a pack. If England was scoring more freely the pressure would be on Lyon. But every bowler is contributing. It's the best we have bowled since Warne and McGrath retired

 Leg stump dart followed by another long hop.
He turned one too though...and a couple left close to the stumps. He doesn't have enough control to land everything all the time. But if we're talking pies, how's Swanny going? :)

Who'd have thought commentators would question people getting out to Ryan Harris as a consequence of losing concentration after seeing off Mitchell Johnson before this series.

FTR I do rate Lyon though. He has just got away with some loose balls at times today that England haven't put away.

I don't you can really think about seeing off any of this attack. They're relentless.

This innings has been so typical of what we're talking about about this attack and Clarke's captaincy though: always in total control of the game. They just make the game flow exactly how they want it to.
