As discussed on the worlds most respected Twitter account (@murf1987), Starc is the right call. Dry pitch, reverse swing. Already have two hit the deck bowlers in Harris and Siddle so if you bring in Bird he has to be at the expense of one of them.

I'm happy with Warner in the setup but I feel as we have missed a trick by not batting him at four ahead of Clarke at 5.

Brilliant. Hughes, despite averaging higher than Clarke, Watson, Smith, Rogers in the series is dropped. Dropping Agar is probably a good selection, but Starc for Bird? Hmm, not sure I agree with that one. Still convinced that Australia would be better lining up with:

Warner
Rogers
Watson
Hughes
Clarke
Smith

as the top order. Hughes > Khawaja, and Warner should be opening. As for England, I'd have liked to have seen Tremlett in for Bres, but he performed well in the last game, so not too bothered. Would like to see Tremlett appear at some point in the series though!

In a crushing blow, C9 have decided to bring in Ian Chappell and Brett Lee for this test

Yeah this. People have been constantly talking about how Bird is suited to English conditions, but I don't buy it. He's predominantly a seam bowlers isn't he? So he'd actually prefer the faster wickets in Australia and certainly prefer Hobart to most English test grounds.
He's more of the sorta Philander type where they can get a bit of movement in the air and a bit of nibble off the pitch as well.

But I agree with Benchmark that he shouldn't be in the same attack as Siddle on this pitch.

Given Warner smacked 193 at four, and it's where Hughes was previously batting in the last game, I don't see why he doesn't just bat at four today. Keeps Clarke at five, and I prefer Smith at six to five.
