*Official* Third Test at Edgbaston

Have you seen him against pace?

I doubt he would bat 10 in county cricket.
Was a joke tbh. I did see him slap Jimmy over his head a couple of times.

Anyway it would make what will be a pretty dull ODI series more entertaining. Do it!

The biggest market for cricket has been here 75 odd years. It's been **** at tests for 50 of them, competitive at home but very poor away for another 15, decent everywhere for 8 and was top of the pops for 2.

Test cricket was around before India became a power, and it will be around now India is reverting to type. Even when we were top of the pops for a decade, people weren't saying the game's survival is contingent on us getting good results forever.

What an incredibly conceited and arrogant attitude that is.

Edit: not that it's yours I should say, but if that's how the thinking goes in India, it's little wonder your stay at the top has been so short.
But what it didn't have against it are T20s, and the large salaries and incentives playing in the IPL has for the new generation of cricketers. Look as I said, my post was partly in jest, and no I don't think it will die off either tbh.

But with that said, I certainly don't see Test cricket growing. No that is not the attitude I have, to me it's unfortunate if Test cricket doesn't grow as I love each form of the game just as much. But just take a look at Test cricket, do you really see any substantial interest in it outside of Eng, Aus, and to some degree India? The crowds coming in for the Test matches outside of Eng/Aus are pitiable to say the least. Just take a look at crowds coming in during the recent India in South Africa series as an example.

And for the younger generation of Indian cricketers, I just don't see them having the same drive and ambition for Test cricket when they consider the salaries/incentives IPL alone can offer them. I genuinely hope I'm wrong, but that's how I see it happening.

Praveen getting runs I can take but, please God, don't make me sit here and watch Dhoni slog any longer.

This gets on my nerves at the end of the match, India no chance of winning and slogging out, lets wrap this up.

I know this is meaningless runs and all, but I do find it a bit annoying that we can't seal the deal a bit more emphatically. Even against Oz we had bloody Siddle and Hilfenhaus getting a slog in.

I'll take it if we keep nailing though.

And one for Broad, I guess, whose wickets deserved/wickets taken differential drops down to a mere +5.

Yeah but it shows just how hard it is to get teams out these days; very few genuine bunnies any more, better bats, etc. Easier said than done.

England have bowled a few awful balls but some reasonable balls have been smashed. Not a lot you can do about that.
