It's what I've been saying all season to my county side - there's no good in having a few decent overs and getting yourselves into a decent position if you then switch off and let the opposition then have their own way, even for two overs (which was enough to cost us a game v Bucks...)

It's true for all levels of the game - keep on top, keep the intensity, and things will go your way because the opposition won't see a way out. Let your foot off the gas, and they'll be on you quicker than Yuvraj hits the queue for seconds at the lunch break.

Most of the prolific opening partnerships had two different types of batsmen - often one attacking/extravagant, the other solid, with a strong technique, which would be effective in tiring the bowlers and fielders. These two, when they're at there best, are very similar, both are left handed, patient, and tough to get out. Its good to watch in its own way.

Briefly lost number 1 at home to Saffa as well didn't they, before regaining it away to Saffa? (Also 2-1 anyway)

India need to organise a couple of more series at home soon

And that is why they should have gone for that chase in the West Indies in the last test, imo.

How much difference would a 2-0 win in the Windies have made, in terms of what we need to win by to take top spot?

I think you would have needed to win the series by 3 tests then instead of 2 from the predictor thing at the time.

Not sure what would have happened with a 3 nil win in the Windies.

Look India, I don't expect you useless pieces of **** to get 10 wickets, but at least get one. Don't let England get 600/0 declared or something absurd like that.
You'd have to be a real joke of a test unit to allow that to happen.
