Nole leaving in the morning instead of hanging around an extra day posing or photos, as he is playing Davis cup next weekend. Such a crazy schedule!

He apologised to the media and bought them all Lindt chocolate. Best bloke. Respects the media's role in the sport, and also a class act to boot.

Murray had some serious foot blisters. Affected his game. Not why he lost but would have been ****ing uncomfortable.
They looked gross. Though John Lloyd and Andrew Castle on BBC said that they wouldn't hurt as much as you would think. They know more than I do so I don't know.

I get grecian's point, but I don't think defensive is the term. It gets pretty taxing watching because they're all baseliners who are consistent and rarely miss, so rallies go on for 30 minutes. It's like watching women's tennis sometimes.

Hate to sound like John Newcombe here, but serve volleying is definitely the more attractive brand of tennis.

Only think that stopped last nights match from going longer is the increase in the court speed this year hey Jono?

Why have to get venomous? Genuinely don't see the comparison between the top women's player who paint lines or miss, and Nole, Muzz and Raf.

Only Wozniacki really plays with the defence that they do. At times Radwanska. The rest hit winners or spray errors.

Respectfully disagree. Rafa vs Novak has produced more atg matches than Tsonga, Berdych, Delpo and co. Fed is the best to watch but i think the average tennis watcher prefers seeing slugfests and ridiculous retrieving than seeing the other shot makers. US Open 2011 and Aus Open 2012 finals were received by almost everyone in a positive way, with everyone agreeing we are in a golden era.

They've produced more ATG matches because they're better players. No one is questioning the ability of these players, but I prefer watching two great players with contrasting styles going against each other. Tennis is too attritional now for my liking. I appreciate the ability of the players, and I love Djokovic, but it would be better if one of the top four was a genuine serve volleyer, for example.

Yeah that's why Agassi vs Sampras was always an awesome battle to watch. I love/loved watching Fed vs. Rafa though.

One thing that I would like to hear from Jono about is.. Are Grand Slams really better off having 32 seeded players against the old school top 16?

I liked 16 more as it meant there was more chances to have very difficult first and second round matches for the seeded players. Overall I don't think it would change the semi finals or anything though, top 4 too classy.

Eh, depends on your perspective. If you're a viewer, of course you'd rather less seeds as it makes the tournament more unpredictable, at least in the earlier stages. Even if the results will likely be the same, you will tune in on day 1 and possibly see Novak vs. Stan instead of day 7.

But if you're talking from the point of view of the players, you'd want it to stay as is. You want to be rewarded for being consistent, having a high rank, and not being a douche and tanking matches or not putting in effort all the time like the rank 30-60 players. Nole, Rafa, Murray, Fed all work harder than the rest, and no doubt believe they should be rewarded by having a good draw and not having to play tough matches earlier.

Players as in top ranked players? Not so sure that the players outside the top 32 like this particular system. End of the day I'm just a casual fan so yeah I like the old system better but understand yours and the ATP's reasoning.

Haha the game is run by the top 4. No one gives a **** what Florian Mayer and Julien Benneteau think.

I'm agreeing with you ftr. 16 seeds will be better for us viewers. But not Rafa and Roger and co.
