To misquote Scouse Benny from ages ago ......

My enjoyment of the tennis this afternoon is constantly being spoiled by a high pitched screaming noise emanating from my TV. When I phoned the BBC to complain, they informed me that it is Maria Sharapova.

At the risk of sounding even more like an old git than usual, why on earth are they allowed to get away with making this din?

How ******** are the rankings (not that I'm complaining) -

If Novak makes the final he becomes world number one, even if current world number one Nadal wins the title...

That is just ********.

Hardly a joke, he just hasn't yet been credited for a lot of his record winning streak.

Speaking of Djokovic, the quality of this quarter-final has been absurdly low.

Ofcourse it's a joke when you have a guy who has won two grand slams to anothers one, being the incumbent world number one and still can't hold onto it.

Don't be hatin' our Bernard, ****.

Want to see low, wait for Murray's bottom lip when he inevitably gases up.

If you're just saying that Grand Slams should have a stronger weighting then I agree. It doesn't make much of a difference though; the players know what matters.

Novak's streak wasn't a record either ftr.

And yes, it is a joke, even though I'm clearly a massive Djokovic fan.

How much stronger weighting can you give them? They are already worth twice as much as any other tournament on the calendar, any more than that and you will have guys ranked absurdly high after being gifted an easy draw to the fourth round or quarters of a Slam.

Ah, you're right. He fell one short.

There are ways around that. You could weight Grand Slam semi-finals and finals insanely heavily but keep the early rounds as they are.
