was a good match, the way in which the match went along, and the tight finish probably enhances it as a classic, when really, there wasnt much great tennis played...
i daresay lleyton is going to get whipped by roddick on friday, but u never know...

Lleyton has lost much too many sets in this tournament. Fair enough he's had some good players, but he shouldn't have dropped a set to Blake (though I'm a big fan of his) and he definitely shouldn't have lost a set to Chena. Nadal was a shock to many, and Nalbandian always had it in him to take it to Hewitt, but both of those shouldn't have gone to 5 also.

He's had a tough tournament, and unless fate is on his side like it was on Goran back at Wimbledon 2001, I see Roddick beating him.

It might not have been the greatest match in the world, but boy that 5th set is one of the best sets of tennis I have seen EVER! It is up there with the first two sets of the Wimbledon final of 2000 (IIRC) when Sampras played Rafter.

Rafter/Sampras was great, but Rafter/Goran was better IMO. However I guess you're talking about individual sets. Still IMO the 5th of Rafter/Goran was the most tense I've ever felt watching a tennis match since Goran is my hero.

Yeah definately. But it didn't have the same quality of set.

Rafter's effort in the 2001 Wimbledon semi-final to come out and break Agassi to stay in the 5th set was amazing.

I loved Wimbledon 2001. That was such a brilliant tennis tournament. Rafter & Goran, you can't get two nicer guys teeing it off.

I would have preferred the reverse result in the final though.

Haha, any other opponent and I would have been pulling for the great Pat. If Henman had got past Goran, Pat would have most likely won the final.

But you can't defeat destiny. Goran was meant to win that title, the stars were in line or something.

Serena just beat Sharapova, and it was a great match. I was really hoping Serena could win, because Sharapova just annoys me.

SERENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNA!

What a match!!! What a win!!! She was down and out with her back to the wall, but always managed to break Sharapova whenever she was serving for the match. Down 3 seperate match points, she managed to fight back. That return she hit match point down was absolutely spectacular.

Dejavu since she did something equally as brilliant 2 years ago in the 2003 semi-final against Clijsters. 5-1 down in the 3rd set, I remember that match.

Go Serena go!

Me too. I can't handle those squeals, and that fist in the face thing she does just looks silly. Must admit though she played really well, especially in the first set. She was outpowering Serena which is almost impossible.

In the end class and guts prevailed. :)

I know, what the hell is that, just mamkes her look stupid. Did you notice in one big rally late in the last set she didnt squeal once.
Haha, exactly.

Meanwhile Davenport is getting belted at the moment against Dechy. Two beaks down, 5-1 in the first set. You'd think after the grueling match that Serena went through, Davenport would like a relatively easy match to have the advantage going in (especially since she had herself a tough match against Molik) but Dechy isn't allowing it.

This could be interesting.
