The Sabalenka story is weird. Her father had a serious car accident at 19 which curtailed his ice hockey career, he would then die at 43 of meningitis. Now her boyfriend (also ex ice hockey) dies at almost exactly the same age in a seemingly suicide case. He was in Miami with her.
Yeah the fact that she intends to play this week is strange, to say the least. @Niall, comments? The Sabalenka story is weird. And she intends on playing tennis this week.....
Wat happClassy reaction from Sabalenka after losing against Kalinina...
Stress will do that to a lot of people. Reckon she should be cut some slack.
She had the option to withdraw and grieve in private (if that's where this outburst came from) and didn't take it. Don't think it's too much to expect basic professionalism and civilized behavior once she made the choice to compete...Stress will do that to a lot of people. Reckon she should be cut some slack.
Probably thought it would distract her from the difficulties her life has presented to her. Unwise, but people make unwise decisions when things hit hard. I sincerely hope people don't judge you like you're judging Sabalenka should you take a wrong step when **** hits the fan. It wouldn't feel good. She had the option to withdraw and grieve in private (if that's where this outburst came from) and didn't take it. it's not ideal, but it's not a breakaway, it's still the WTA.Time to boycott tennis (or does that rule only apply to some golfers?)
