What is up with Federer's Hawkeye challenges in the tournament? Gone back to his earlier days of just bizarrely saying "Challenge!" when he's frustrated at losing a point. He used to hate it when it was first brought in, then started using it really wisely, now he's gone back to his earlier days.

Most of those hawkeye challengers felt tactical like 'lets take a breath here' rather than real think its in/out.

My heart is absolutely pounding after that last game.
which is why i never watch federer's high profile matches live anymore, my heart is too old to take that kind of pounding anymore...if he wins those, i watch a replay on tennis channel or espn or something...:)

yeah i have also felt he uses those challenges more to take a breather than anything else, and if he is proved right, that would be a bonus...

Ha yeah same here. Don't mind Nadal that much but would be great if Roger was to win Wimbledon.
getting into the final by beating nadal is a huge deal for federer but talking about him winning wimbledon is a tad premature...djokovic is a much bigger challenge for federer compared to nadal on grass (actually any surface other than clay and i would put him around equal on clay as well), he has lost to him twice in the final here...

Yeah beating Nadal and Djokovic is incredibly hard. He'll need to find the same intensity and level again, if not even higher. We've seen Federer play an incredible semifinal in the past and not be able to repeat it in the final - eg. Wimbledon 2015, French Open 2011. Still beating an in form Nadal, is a great achievement, in and of itself.

It's Wimbledon not the French, Fed has as much chance of beating Nadal as the opposite.
:)

Keep the faith Fed fans, this is his ground, his home and he is playing well. Certainly though Djokovic is a far tougher non-clay challenge than Nadal, regardless I expect the old man to do some heavy damage and if luck sways his way in a couple of big moments he is more than good enough to take the twenty first.

So good to see Serena lose. I was waiting for her to have one of her patented meltdowns.

Serena could have blamed:
- The Media and it's unfair expectations on female tennis players
- Made up racism claims
- Unsubstantiated ***ism claims against the umpire

We really expect better meltdowns from Serena next time.

Well done Halep!
