He may do decently and is in good form, but i am yet to be convinced about his technique.

Also why the hell are they waiting to call up a replacement for Sachin? Just send one in anycase.

Could be a blessing in disguise if Jadeja plays as we would have a decent 5th bowler and this would result in Dhoni coming up the order at 5 or 6. Always believed that Dhoni is a much better batsmen in ODI's whenever he has batted up the order.

And it is being reported that Jadeja wouldnt be part of the second ODI as he havent got the visa yet, so unless tendulkar is declared fit we are playing with 5 bowlers

Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the remainder of India's tour of England, and is set to miss Mumbai Indians' Champions League campaign as well, after a visit to a specialist in London confirmed that he will require four weeks' of rest to recover from an inflamed big toe on his right foot.
I genuinely burst out laughing.

This is a good thing. The remaining matches in this series should be a good opportunity to play some young batsmen and see how they handle the conditions.

You don't honestly believe that do you? He's had enough and is going home.
Hmm.. nah!!.Would be pretty unlike him and it's not like he has been on a a really bad tour for the first time and doesn't like England.

In anycase i doubt he would be able to do that even if he wanted too and the team management would allow that. It is being reported for a week now that he had a infection in the toe for a long while now which got inflamed, and that he will have to see a surgeon.

And Today he visited a English surgeon who told him to rest for 4 weeks and he may require a surgery in the future too if it doesn't heal. Might probably miss the Champions league too for Mumbai Indians which is owned by his friends the Ambani's and he is the captain and mentor of.

lolwut. I don't really see why he would lie and go home. Maybe it's a minor inflammation but it affects his performance so he wants to skip the ODI's and let it heal completely?

EDIT: Yeah what Cevno said.

Badrinath replaces Sachin.

Good move, imo but just 2 openers left on tour now(and Rahane isn't a specialist opener either in domestic cricket).

Southampton currently on the receiving end of freak torrential rain.

Not looking great tomorrow either - 50 overs a side looks optimistic.

The guy's been playing cricket for 21 years and is a complete professional but cbf playing a few ODIs he signed on for because India are losing so he's gone home. Righto.

Ridiculous. Acting like this is the first time Sachin's been on a tour where India have been belted.

Any thoughts as to the bowling now that Swann's coming back in and Samit conducted himself quite well in Durham? Given that any cricket we do get will probably be a 20 or 30 overs affair, it might make a lot of sense to leave Anderson out and go with a more T20 looking side.
