But the problem is again the inconsistencies.We're relying on the umpires to make the best decision they can using their expertise, and as a part of that they can the technology available to assist them as they see fit. It was out... they've given it out. No problems then.
Basically a umpire standing in the middle much closer to the action has given a decision based on his instinct which the umpire above has overruled based on his.
The rule states there has to be conclusive evidence to overturn and in this case there wasn't tbh specially with the sound being very feint. And the Stump mics have a habit of picking up such sounds in the past too as i said.
Would have been fine if he would have been given out, but not overturned with the evidence. But needs to be conclusive evidence to overturn when given not out.
Or else we are entering the territory of one flawed technology vs another and then then the umpires setting up their own standards and doing whatever they like with the available evidence as they can't be wrong either way which is dangerous.
