5 Australians? thats nearly half the team. Their probably is a better opener than Langer at the moment and ponting could probably be replaced with Dravid but other than that it is pretty good.irfan said:1. J Langer
2. G Smith (VC)
3. R Ponting (just shades dravid, can be more explosive) (C)
4. S Tendulkar (elbow fully fit otherwise INZY)
5. B Lara
6. J Kallis
7. A Gilchrist (wk)
8. S Warne
9. S Akhtar
10. M Muralitharan
11. G McGrath
If Harmison travels then he will be playing. He's not in the ODI squad and he's not going to go all the way to australia (he doesn't like travelling as it is) just to carry the drinks.aussie said:regardless of that i'm pretty sure Polly will play in front of Harmison in a 5 man attack comprising of Pollock/Akhtar/Flintoff/Murali/Vettori
Well, I'm sure other players in the squad will be doing so too, so there's quite a good chance of him playing. I don't think he should be included, he didn't go all that well against the Aussies except for his 5-for at Lordsgreg said:If Harmison travels then he will be playing. That doesn't look like a team designed to beat England to me. Smith, Lara and Gilchrist have looked clueless against England in recent series (not saying that they shouldn't be picked or even that they wouldn't come good but just making an observation). Kallis would be absolutely wasted at no6 - along with Dravid only world class batsman in who England have found no convincing plan, but not well equipped to batting with an extremely dodgy tail.irfan said:ive heard that the icc are planning to make the super series an event held every 5 years where the best take on the rest.
jus wondering if england happen to take on ROW, what the ROW lineup be like??
min wud be (based on current form)
1. J Langer
2. G Smith (VC)
3. R Ponting (just shades dravid, can be more explosive) (C)
4. S Tendulkar (elbow fully fit otherwise INZY)

If they would turn the Champions Trophy into a Twenty20 competition, then that's not such a bad schedule IMHO. As it is, I can see myself much more looking forawd to the Super Series events than the mundane/bordering on pointless Champions Trophy that just eats up three weeks of everyone's valuable time.honestbharani said:I am not sure if the super series will happen only once in 5 years. I think it will be a biannual thing, or atleast close it. The way I understand it is that there will be an ICC event every year. So we have the Super Series in 2005, Champions Trophy in 2006, World Cup in 2007, SS in 2008, CT in 2009, SS in 2010, WC in 2011, CT in 2012, SS in 2013, CT in 2014, WC in 2015 and so on.
well he may well & carry the drinks i dont think their is any certainty that Harmy will play yo.....greg said:If Harmison travels then he will be playing. He's not in the ODI squad and he's not going to go all the way to australia (he doesn't like travelling as it is) just to carry the drinks.
in hindsight i wud probably go for dravid over kallis, seeing as kallis wudnt want his bowling figures destroyed against the englishgreg said:Kallis would be absolutely wasted at no6.

Why woould they stagger the CT?honestbharani said:I am not sure if the super series will happen only once in 5 years. I think it will be a biannual thing, or atleast close it.
