That's a real shame for SL, Lakmal was absolutely killing it! A win there could've turned the entire series.

Well that's karma I suppose.

All in all though, a shame that the 2 hour delay and rain ruined was an excellent Test match.

What's everyone's thoughts on Cummins? Wicketless on a deck for quicks isn't a good look. He's been really poor since the 5wh in the India Test.
I think Sri Lanka winning would have been disastrous as I said earlier. This was a good result for cricket. We need to stop taking wickets from no balls. It's unacceptable.

As for Cummins, he has been extremely disappointing and needs dropping. Short, slow and a lack of movement. He has lost pace since he started when he was a 140kph merchant. I would play Keemo Paul instead personally as a skiddy medium fast swing and seam bowler who makes things happen and can bat.

Admittedly I haven't seen the key footage, but from what I did see Chandimal and the coaching staff seem pretty adamant that they didn't do anything wrong.

I've seen it noted here how obvious no-balls aren't being called on the field, and yet there was also one called on a wicket that was actually fine. Has anyone else come to the conclusion that the umpires really just aren't paying attention to them anymore, for whatever reason?

Didn't we have a discussion about this a year ago or so? I can't remember exactly. But the concensus was that umpires feel (right or wrong) they do not need to pay attention as much, as missed no-balls will be corrected, if a wicket is taken of it. I think that's fair enough, but I remember from that discussion, there is no concensus on it.

As for an umpire calling a no-ball, that actually is a fine delivery..... Well, human errors.... But imho, that justifies the idea that umpires do not have to pay attention to no-balls at all. Unless a bowler deliberately tries to intimidate the batsman.

Lets not bring up umpires again lest we get another essay from the self proclaimed umpiring expert of CW.

They aren't going to admit to ball tampering!

I will certainly take the word of the umpires personally.

Keemo Paul has come into the squad to replace Hetmeyer, who is ill. I really hope he plays the third test ahead of Cummins.

Chandimal found guilty of altering the ball and has been suspended for next test. As I said before, I don't want anyone who is a cheat representing my country. I hope the board bans him.. he shames the reputation of the entire country by doing this..

Time for a change of captain? Not only has he shamed his home nation, but he arguably cost SL a win with all of that protesting.

Yea I wouldn't mind if a player/team I supported tampered the ball -that's only natural really- the bigger issue for me is holding the game up this way

Should take a note out of Faf's book - tamper the ball, get caught, don't argue it, cop the 1 match suspension from the ICC, smile it off, return and tamper it again. Easy.
