**** me. The 2 biggest spuds in the Aus side feasting on club-grade bowling and confirming their spots for the Ashes. **** the selectors seriously.

And yes I do see the irony of ****-talking the selectors for picking players who have performed, but I stand by what I said. Bad in the long run.

Head has been the most consistent designated batsman they’ve had all summer. Miles better than Marnus, the Pillow and Harris.

Head has been pretty solid for the most part but I just can't stand how he pretty much always settles on 40's and 50's. And I can't see his technique working in England. After Smith he's probably our best player of spin though.

Marnus's game looks legit IMO. I don't like the selection because it didn't really reward performance but I think he's got a lot to work with.

Handscomb and Maxwell have him covered pretty comfortably

yes I know they're Victorians but it's the truth

Not sure why you're trying to make it about where the players are from
Well who would you pick ahead of him, Handscomb's technique is shite and Pucovski is far too raw. With our two best batsman still unavailable, there is no doubt Head is among the best of the rest

All talk about Handscomb's technique is garbage. It's fine. He's a better prospect than Head, but tbh I still don't love him in England.

Maxwell is a no-brainer, give the **** a decent run in the side and he could be anything.

I'd love to have seen Pucovski given a chance, but I can understand him being left out for Head. He will be twice the player though, if he isn't already.

Patterson is better than Head too.

Matty Wade.

The only guy in the frame who is worse than Head is Labushagme

I'll respect the achievements if these guys make tons here, because even though they've been handed it on a silver platter (coming in day time after other blokes saw off the new ball under lights, ordinary attack etc.) you still have to make them

Handscomb’s technique is ****ing horrendous. Jfc mate. He was hyped as a great player of spin but did sfa in India last year. Maxwell has played spin well on occasion but, whilst I think he should have been picked at different times, I do agree he’s being mythologised to a big extent owing to not being picked.

i'd still prefer handscomb over burns. have significantly more faith in him making technical adjustments to correct his game than burns, who seems absolutely primed to feed the slips against good bowling.

Handscomb has had a few chances to address these issues but hasn’t.

He stands too deep in the crease, he doesn’t get forward and he can’t play the short ball either. He’s basically what all laughable SC batsmen used to be. He’s an all around the wicket flop.

Almost certainly. Still should easily be in the best XI, let alone a decimated XI.
Wade is not the answer
Better than Head

Handscomb is one of the better batsman in the country against spin, but that isn't especially relevant for the Ashes. If he keeps camping back in the crease he will be eaten alive against England

This. Basically until he stands outside his crease to the quicks for a season I wouldn't want to see him in the test side again.
