Hazlewood has gained his status by being the next McGrath, which he is not. Him and Starc are fighting for 3rd pacer imo

I don't quite agree with that but either way, it's not by so much you'd rush him back after a back complaint. Especially since it was probably the same injury that knocked him out of the winter tour and contributed to him being worse than Starc all year.

I suppose the good thing is that if he is fit, it makes for some excellent competition for spots in England. If Starc doesn’t hoop it in England he’s vulnerable, and Hazlewood didn’t bowl very well there iirc last time, when his method really should suit the conditions. I’d hoped he would tear it up this time around.

Dickwella got them to the bare minimum. Shame no one else got much.

Sri Lanka's bowling seems oddly really effective in very seamy conditions....either that or they seem to get a significant proportion of them or are just terrible in non-friendly conditions. So this mini-session will be interesting.

Hard not to notice how even when he hasn't taken 5, he's often the pick of the bowlers. Even in his first Test, it was noticeable how much harder he was to leave than everyone else.
