I had been watching both matches side by side, and there is a difference between the way the Pakistanis were batting from the way the Indians pretended to bat. Imran, Younis and Inzy just worked the ball into gaps, ran hard and played out more than a few overs. No more were they fishing outside the off-stump. Really simple stuff. Why couldn't the Indians bat that way?
because these knw if they dont do well this time theyl b out of the team specially imran and younis :D

Just as much difference between the Indian top-6 and their Pakistani counterparts. Besides, Vaas is not a bad bowler at all, and the pair of Dilhara and Herath got 15 wickets between them. Not to mention the Pakistanis did the simple things right, while the Indians did not.

Definitely particularly when SL's number one wicket taker and (previous) world record holder of highest wickets in Test cricket is not playing. :D

About Inzamam, given the revolving door policy of Pakistan captaincy, he hasn't been captain for long, so is it fair? Besides, he is the most reliable batsman in this side, and he's got runs almost all the time.

My guess is Pakistan will try and bat till Teatime or Post -tea tomorrow, to get a lead of 200 plus before declaring . What do you think , Pakman ?

Edit - lead already 70 prior to close of second day.

So lead likely to be around 300 plus at the time of any hint of declaration on Day 3 teatime (possibly).

Vaas picks up another consolation wicket , Riaz afridi - night watch man out for 9 . 4/298 . Inzy 79 n.o. 2 balls left till close of play.

In fact that is close due to bad light (with the wicket) !!

Exactly. Especially when this Sri Lankan team is lacking Murali, and this Aussie bowling line-up is arguably at the best for a number of years.

That being said, can't take anything away from Pakistan, they're playing well :)

Good Knock by Younis Khan. He has got lot of stick from the Pakistani fans and I am happy for him. IMO Pakistan should bat as long as they can on the 3rd day and they will still have 2 full days to get Lanka out.

100.6 Fernando to Inzamam-ul-Haq, one run, on leg stump, turns it to
backward square leg and gets his 20th 100 in test cricket!
:clapping:

Pak 4/ 366 . Youhana 45 n.o off 54 balls. Lead 158 .

Pak almost certainly wouldn't need to bat on the 4th innings, as it stands and provided they bat into Post-Tea session also. :)

Pakistan 9/467 - Lead 259 (just as I predicted) :smartass: innings about to close, near Tea on Day 3.

SL have it all to do. An early finish I suspect, some time tomorrow. :crybaby:
